Behold: the 1961 Ferrari 250GT SWB Berlinetta: hand build, designed by Pininfarina with coachwork by Scaglietti – a legend from a time before computer aided design and the tyranny of aerodynamics.

This vehicle comes complete with a historic racing history and full Ferrari Classiche certification.

Price on request but something very similar sold last summer for €7.14 million.

Had one of those. Rubbish. It was an early retirement gift from Stephen Roche’s Calvita cycling team. Hardest game in the world, Tour de France domestique. I was towing a trailer load of tree cuttings up to Ballyboden public dump when the tranny fell out of her. Scarleh when she rolled back down the hill and crashed into Adam Clayton’s Aston Martin. He was nice about it. Bought a second-hand 2CV instead. Never looked back.
