Oh.
Wednesday night.
Gardaí seized €2,000 in deadly ‘Cannabis Herb’, €11,000 in cash and a high-tensile bow with arrows following a search of a residence in Dublin 7 by Bridewell Crime Prevention Unit.
A 44 year-old man was arrested at the scene.
He was all a quiver.
Quiver.
Suit yourselves.

spot your 50?
Deadly Cannabis herb? That will be a first. No one has ever overdosed on weed. So if its described as deadly I wonder what exactly is the difference with this find?
Junkface, that was me just having the laugh.
Ha haha! Oh right sorry. Thought it was an official description. Thanks
Great headline, in fairness
Archery equipment isn’t illegal. Why was that seized?
There’s been a few drive-by arrowings in that area.
you might tell us a few nock-nock jokes instead, bodger..
‘nock-nock’. as in ‘nock’?
lads, that one flew right over your heads..
Ah gotcha. Sorry.
By ‘ that area ‘ do you mean in da Robin Hood ?
I’ll get my tights …
You are drawing a long bow there.
Fletcher sorry you made such a corny joke ….
I would have had you down as more of a suspenders type myself.
It was deadly for sure.
To imply there was somehow violence involved – instead of just a middle aged guy that some sells weed who happens to do a bit of archery
is that 2000 worth of cannabis. Jesus that’s expensive
Well yer man who owns it says he only robs from the rich and gives to the poor.
They must be weighing it in the jar
Ireland has some policy choices:
-Decriminalization.
-Legislation.
Either is better than outright prohibition the current policy.
Based on evidence from over 20 states, legislation is the way to go.
Gino’s bill is unfit for purpose.
h/t Cian who forwarded me The Greens policy position-which i am reviewing.
(no scales, looks personal, most likely self medicating chronic pain)
and the €11,000 in cash?
perhaps that is just walking-around-money?
he/she probably doesn’t trust the banks in Ireland, wasn’t it the current AG that devised the last bank bailout and guarantee, perhaps his reappointment made him nervous.
i was not aware holding that small amount legal currency was a crime.
Having 11k cash isn’t a crime.
Having a load of weed and 11k cash suggests that you are dealing.
If he can’t account for the cash then it isn’t unreasonable to think it is from selling drugs.
But perhaps he won it in the bookies.
Neither is a bow and arrow, but somehow that and maybe his medicine ended up in the photo,i still believe in the presumption of innocence until…hope i don’t get you on a jury-its all staged Cian the whole thing.
Hardly a ‘load’ of weed, you’d fit that in your pocket, the normal metric is pounds, that looks like maybe a few ounces at best.
It also appears to be really low grade, old and not very appealing,we call it Mexican dirt weed,as its often grow by side road in Mexico.
Whichever way you look at it,its a complete waste time energy and resources.
Ireland needs to grow up legalise weed and stop wasting the few resources we have on ridiculous non-issues.
Today the minister of health could with a stroke his pen include ‘pain’ as a qualifying condition under the pilot medical access program-there is more than enough evidence.
Any GP should be allowed issued a ‘license/prescription’ for patients seeking treat their chronic pain with medical cannabis.
This license could allow each patient grow 4-6 plants-these licenses can be transferred to a care giver, who rolls up these medical licenses or bundles them into a say 60 (small) plant grow.
The free market will take care the rest, the govt can sit back stay out it,allow it grow and develop, while working on legislation.
Care givers provide patients their medicine in whatever format they prefer, edibles, extracts, flower.
Post of the day

tks V-here you go have a great weekend-whole industry here dedicated just this area:)
“The first time Ashley Manta got stoned specifically to have sex, it changed everything.
“I came so hard, like repeatedly, and afterward I just hugged [my boyfriend] and cuddled up in his arms and just felt full-on blissed-out all over my body,” she told me during an interview for D Is For Desire, HuffPost’s love and sex podcast. “I was like, ‘There is something to this.’

Three years after Uruguay became the first country in the world to start sales of legal, commercially produced cannabis, the former head of the country’s national drug agency wrote a review of this policy change.
Diego Olivera the X head of the Uruguayan national drug agency, outlines the failures and success here.
One big takeaway is what I am advocating for Ireland.
“Also, allowing craft growers – something that wasn’t in the agenda in the early years of legalization – could be a good idea,” Olivera said.”
“Finally, three years after the start of the sale to the public, Uruguay is a freer country, with more tools to combat illegal economies and with an important international recognition that positions us as a model to follow in the search for ways to abandon the failed prohibition”

The first person arrested in the state on drug possession charges was Raifiu Ojikuto, a 26-year-old Nigerian medical student in April 1964,for possession of purple hearts or speed,he died after failing appear in court.
The first convictions in Ireland for drug possession was in Sept 1964 when two 21 year olds,Stewart McFarlane and Colin Fay,were sentenced to six months for importing and possessing ‘indian herb’.
Since then hundreds of thousand of people have been harassed and arrested, detained, charged and imprisoned in Ireland for simply possessing a plant with scientifically proven medical properties.
Irelands war on drugs is a failure,so why wont the govt change its policy, some political issues are hard, legalizing marijuana is easy.
Weed has been a key driver of mass criminalization in Ireland of people from improvised backgrounds, many who’s lives have been severely impacted for simply possession of cannabis.
Having a cannabis arrest on your record makes it difficult secure and maintain employment, housing, for the rest of your life.
Which is why clearing past records is also a very important part of Ireland’s legislation, that i will be laying out over the next few weeks, its referred to as a program of economic justice. The war on drugs has criminalization and disproportionally harms and oppresses poor & working class people.
Ireland has been following a path to legislation dictated by corporate and industry backed lobbying efforts, leading the state away from what is right and just.Irelands legislation can truly help roll back the over criminalization and end this failed drugs war on working class people.
The ‘johnny green’ plan/posts are to kick start the domestic cannabis medical cultivation industry, while working on legislation and expanding the pilot program to include ‘chronic pain’ as a qualifying condition.
First i will review the current pilot medical access program, then lay out why ‘chronic pain’ should be included.
