He’d be having a ball with all the shenannigans of today.
I very much doubt it.. the pubs are closed!
The Brother will have something to say about that for sure..!!
nope
Never a playwright. Thirst is appalling.
Except for the plays he wrote, you’re absolutely right.
Who remembers the pub/venue “An Béal Bocht”, at Charlemont Bridge area?
I do; painted green and white. Very intimate and suitable for acoustic gigs.
Not unlike The Meeting Place except acts were almost exclusively trad/folk.
The Theatre Compny Corcadorca put on some of his work there, a very creative version of The Poor Mouth itself…..
Myles spoke for the Plain People of Ireland. He overlooked the Mountain People.
I remember the day it closed down suddenly. There was a queue of people outside waiting to see a long haired troubadour called Paul I seem to remember. He was standing outside with his guitar but he didn’t get in and it never opened again. Nice guy. I saw him in Whelan’s subsequently. Saw Donal Lunny in an Béal Bocht amongst a few others.
a Fine spot
Dublin in the rare auld times……………God be with the days
