Before BS commenters take to BSTV, I hope those who may/ may not be interested in Astronomy look upwards tonight because Mars (The Red Planet) is on fire and beautiful to observe – and like one’s first love, he won’t turn up for 15 years, then he’ll be gone again.

    Fight…

    War!

… I meant to say BS readers, not just commenters…

Damn, I’ve been indoctrinated already :(

To think that it’s all astronomical when The Man himself referred to the stars – I’m aware you’re referring to a planet – as the sign of the times.

And, no, it’s not Prince the now deceased musician that Sinéad had the misfortune of encountering, that I’m referring to.

Watching Mars grow has been lovely this past while.. quietly usurping Venus on my night roaming.. cloudy in Dublin now.. Have you noticed how the moon so low in the East.. north east really.. as it is now.. I know I must have seen it there before, but I can’t remember..

It’s got to be more interesting than Slovakia v Ireland.
I’ve had more entertaining ingrowing toe-nails.
And the commentary by Mick McCarthy reminds me of an undertaker giving parking instructions to the hearse driver outside a crematorium.
God let it be over soon.

@Janet, you’re welcome, I hope the sky is clear for you, although considering your baby is due in March, he/she could be born Aries – then you’ll appreciate the omen! Congratulations btw:)

@Toby, I’m quite busy 24/7 so I haven’t had a chance to view Chompsky’s posts today; so, Chompsky, apologies if I tried to steal your thunder – or so to speak.

@benblack, I hope your furniture business works out well for you in these difficult times.

Unlike Derek, I had mixed feelings about Emily in Paris. Irritating, predictable, cliche-ridden… but I watched all ten episodes nonetheless. The French character Sylvie makes it.

I heard a woman on the radio today who switched jobs from event manager to undertaker so take heart Neil and Jimmy!

    1. Janet, dreams of big guns

Sylvie is the most realistic character, it’s a very disney version and she’s not going anywhere in those skirts with a lot more let’s say insistant attention…but yes I also watched it ( mostly because I enjoy giving out..ask Rob ;) ) the running scenes made me deeply homesick as did the gifts of lovely lingerie ( sexy not sexist ;) ) and views from the fifth floor

Also Janet, if her boss Madeleine had gone, I doubt they’d have stuck her in the chambre de bonne. Emily’s clothes are mostly hideous, Sex & the City on acid.

I used to have to gift/ bribe so many of the charming concierge in my line of work …ah those were the days

Hey- Trust me I was surprised that I liked it. I think I could relate to the cultural differences, particularly work related, between Europe and the US. Working to live vs living to work. ‍♂️
