I donated 50 euros just now. would donate more if I had it. The wife bought me one of their hoodie. how this is allowed to struggle when the barbaric greyhound industry gets 19 million is morally wrong. Its our biggest tourist attraction and an institution.

I wonder is there such a thing as a ‘Zoo zoom’?

Stick up a live feed and generate ad revenue that way perhaps? Maybe it already exists, dunno?

Yeah, I’m kind of conflicted on the zoo.

I have a lot of nice memories from my childhood, but as an adult anytime I’ve visited, I’ve always found it depressing.

Anyway, just heard on the radio Micheal Martin’s promised to sort it and foto wildlife park out.

I think Dublin Zoo would be a terrible loss. Made a donation this morning. It was a pretty depressing place in the 90s and early 2000s, but they’ve really undergone massive changes since then. The enclosures have been totally redesigned to give the animals a lot more to do and a lot more privacy. In an ideal world I suppose zoos wouldn’t exist because we wouldn’t hunt animals to extinction and destroy their habitats. But sadly we do. If we were to close all the zoos now we’d lose their invaluable conservation efforts.

We don’t need Zoos, we need wildlife sanctuaries. A Zoo in the middle of the capital city is not for the animals benefit.

          +1
          They are not ethical.
It would be good to see Dublin Zoo replaced with an amenity to suit all.

maybe if the were allowed to feed the animals with children who climb the barriers they wouldn’t need so much money for food
