Lovely looking yoke…but realistaically youre putting mudguards and a carrier on it.
a backer
you mean
and some scrote will take the whole lot on ye
looks good in those photos. id say in real life looks like a boring aul grey yoke.
Surprised they didn’t go with their three-pointed-star wheels.
My eldest brother adapted his bike, and used it to go to college in Dublin. He fitted a standard 10 speed derailleur onto a 3-speed planetary hub gear. While I take some of his stories with a little bit of salt, he had a speedometer mounted. I remember making 50 mph (yes, miles per hour). He reported his fastest went off the scale, although he preferred to cruise.
Outside of college term, he used it to head around the country.
I can tell you, it was more than 16.7 kg, but gears are wonderful things at overcoming such issues.
How about an Irish alternative?

Don’t mean to be mean but there’s little to nothing Irish about those bikes other than the fact that they import them from Asia to here… They’re pretty generic.
a bit more than that: they’re designed and assembled in ireland
I;d rather one of these. If your bike gets nicked they promise to get it back or will replace it:

I wonder how much that chain would cost to replace – or even the cost for a link in that chain.
Its a belt so you need to replace the whole thing and for most its a shop job….but they usally last longer than the bike which is why they use them, no maintenance.
