I like the contrast of the grim lane with the yokes above and how the light is catching them, plus it’s a brave man that whips his camera or phone out down any lane in Dublin.

dead right Brother, no harassment, no pickpockets worth mentioning, no up in your face scamming to talk off , the worst that will happen is someone drunk wants to be your new mate or falls into you

Maybe I’ve just been unlucky down the decades, or have ‘one of those faces’, maybe too many nights in my youth spent waiting on buses on Abbey St and then later outside the Virgin Megastore/Spar, seen lots of hassle towards me and others and always got a bad vibe around the quays due to the sheer volume of addicts and ne’er do wells.

I think when you are tall you get less hassle but compared to other cities as a woman in particular I feel safe

It’s a kip. I’m born n bred Dublin and I don’t like the place. Far too many scumbags. Feel it becoming more and more unsafe.

Indeed, despite lurid tabloid reports of rampaging youths Dublin is generally as safe as you could get these days.

Not to say its totally safe and like anywhere it has crime but compared to elsewhere?
