Bit Of A Caution

‘Revellers’ celebrate 420 on Custom House Quay, Dublin 1 last year

This afternoon.

Via RTÉ:

People caught with a small amount of cannabis for personal use from today can now avoid a criminal conviction if they admit the offence and accept an adult caution.

The gardaí announced today that the offence is one of four which have been approved for the adult cautioning scheme by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It is the first time a drugs offence can be deemed not to be a criminal offence.

The Adult Cautioning Scheme allows a person who has made a mistake to avoid a criminal conviction.

FINALLY!

Big Pharma and Big Cannabis will be pleased with Stephen,i’d say they be so thrilled that they may even give his old shop a little bit work, has he ever revealed his clients, he did withdraw from the banking inquiry, leaving a bit of a stench.

Its good news for Gino’s constituents, who’d be big in distribution and Stephens in manufacturing, but fook all use to farmers, growers and patients.

“Aphria stock and Tilray stock surged Wednesday after announcing a merger that would create the biggest weed company by revenue…”

I presume at least some of you will have seen a horse or donkey at a point, how shall I put it, where they are not exactly relaxed?

.. have you ever considered changing your username to Phallus, Paulus? I won’t elaborate any more :)

… unless you want me to…

oh so what? make it wholly available for medical use. it’s archaic to still deny people that easy relief.

    Is this a joke?

this is massive news if its not a joke.

so basically we are now like amsterdam without the coffee shops. in that we are only to get warning. legally might be different, but in practice id say the same.

      D,
I wouldn’t go mad celebrating, if I were you. Certainly don’t go learning Dutch.
I think you get one chance, I think it is at the discretion of the officer in charge at the station.
So the next time, if you face the same problem again, I think if you already have a caution, you are back in the dock.
This is how I think it works, could be very wrong too though.
Check it out before you go blowing smoke…..

The Garda Superintendent will inform you that they are considering not prosecuting you if you are prepared to accept a caution in respect of the matter. They will also issue you with a warning that any future behaviour of such a criminal kind will likely result in a prosecution. You must also accept responsibility for your behaviour before you are considered for cautioning.

        […]

Can an offender receive a second Adult Caution?
        […]
If a Superintendent decides to give a second or subsequent caution to any person, then the Gardaí must first obtain the permission of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

..in the interest of fairness and justice its retroactive right, people with convictions for small amounts of possession get them expunged…i mean even a half baked management consultant can grasp that, not sure bout poor oul Gino, though…

CBO-congressional budget office study on MORE act.

“H.R. 3884 would federally decriminalize cannabis (marijuana), expunge the records of people convicted of federal cannabis offenses, and require resentencing of some federal prisoners. As a result, CBO estimates, thousands of current inmates would be released earlier than under current law. In the future, decriminalization also would reduce the number of people in federal prisons and the amount of time federal inmates serve.”

some people are just hot wired to lose, its like a grove or a chip on their shoulder.

Gino’s concession speech, just prior results announcing he’d won..this is the chap in charge Ireland’s cannabis campaign, the public face of failure.

“Unfortunately it’s not looking good in getting re-elected. We have done everything in the past four weeks/years. ..
Following his stunning victory the prominent medicinal cannabis advocate told RTE News he planned to spend a few days camping in the Dublin mountains to recharge after a hectic campaign.”

yeah some campaign, happy take all the credit, the reality is he’s done sweet fook all.
