Well folks. Raze the country to the ground is how I phrased it when I said Trump would destroy his country if he lost the election. Is the genie out of the bottle at this stage and is the USA hurtling towards a civil war?

Trump has polarized that country like no other and has whipped his Qrazy base to such a frenzy, they’re clearly prepared perpetrate any crime and any act of barbarity to achieve their aims. Blue lives matters? That’s a laugh. Blue lives fair game. Civil war stuff. Brother agin brother. Every aspect of American life has been pulled into this that includes law enforcement, military, elected officials and every aspect of society are prepared to rejected for American constitution and rule of law for Trump. It’s astonishing that it’s shaping up that way given he, spectacularly, clearly could not give a rat’s botty about them.

There’s a sub on Reddit called r/Qanoncasualties that’s just heartbreaking.

I find myself conflicted about this whole impeachment thing thats gonna explode this week. On one hand it’s clearly lobbing dynamite onto an already out of control fire, on the other hand that scumbag and his ilk needs eviscerating from the political landscape. And made so never to return. I do believe however that the only way Biden does not become president is if they assassinate him first. Or something along those lines.

So Lord knows where it’ll end up. Strap in tho cause sits gone be a wild couple of weeks.

I was up at the ma’s recently and she kept all my 2000ads from prog 180 to about 1100. The States could certainly do with the wisdom of Tharg right now..

    2. Cian

Did any of you see the video of the Trump rioters beating the cop to death?

It was horrific. They were chanting “USA USA”, while beating him with the USA flag, on the steps of the Capitol building.

      sickening.

      1. Brother Barnabas

        +1

and it took 4 days before trump relented and allowed the flag to be lowered to half mast

        scum

      2. Junkface

Yeah I saw that. They were more violent than any other riots I’ve seen from across America in the last year. Trumps Qanon crowd of cult followers are brainwashed freaks. Convinced of a reality they read on facebook or 4chan, 8chan that does not exist. There is no reasoning with these people, and a lot of them are armed, legally. Very dangerous period for the next 2 weeks.

        1. Cian

and a lot of them are armed, legally.

Do you know who wasn’t armed? The Capitol police. They were instructed not to carry. And who is in control of security in DC? El Presidente!

          1. Junkface

I know. The Police leadership at the Capitol building have a lot to answer for. If there were instructions from the top to go easy, against reports from FBI or NSA that some Qanon followers were a domestic terrorism threat, then it will be a massive controversy. Actions that got Police killed. Its really crazy how disorganised the police were.

    3. ( ̄_, ̄ ) AKA Frilly Keane

We could all start with recognising that Trump was never a Politician
or an elected Representative prior to his win in the GOP primaries and on into the White House
He never set out to represent people or constituents or voters or citizens or whatever
      only himself
      Not even the Republican Party

      Just Himself, Trump

Everyone is well into disingenuous territory by not accepting or recognising that fact first and foremost in any comments they make

I agree impeachment is only going to keep America burning, and think Pelosi etc should just get on with other business, and let the FBI & other Enforcement etc get on with theirs.

America was :::ked long before now, and the Democratic Party can own as much of that deterioration as anyone else

Yet something has to be done to put right the Stop the Steal brigades
If its education, or hearings, or charges to allow full pleadings in open Court,
      I don’t know,
But one thing for sure, America needs to change how it casts its votes and counts them

But not one person squealing Stop the Steal
or wearing Stop the Steal t-shirts
or flying Stop the Steal flags
Should be left in any doubt how their elections work – from entry onto the ballot to when the Candidate for the post/ seat is formally deemed elected
      And that includes Candidates themselves

Stop the Steal needs to be addressed, no matter what anyone has to say about things they know about the counts throughout the Country
Last week a lad was pictured manspreading over Nancy Pelosi’s office, an office she was elected into and returned to. Not him.
another posing for selfies and what have you with the Podium from the Senate floor under his arm

None were elected to any function in the Senate or the Capitol

      How’s that for looting Democracy

      Get it together ‘Merica

I want to see the 25th Amendment or impeachment for Trump. However, punishing him for his crimes needs to be done in a way that doesn’t inflame his cult followers. That is where I hope the best sequence of actions can be found. If more Republicans like Arnie come out strongly against DT, it may help more Trumpers see sense.

    1. dav

      “Trumpers see sense”
Unfortunately they don’t want to see sense, it could be argued that they can not see sense.
They are blinded with rage (stoked by drumpf) and all they want to do is lash out.

      1. ReproBertie

Some of them are already turning on Trump because he wasn’t there when they rushed the Capitol and then he told them to go home. They were expecting him to lead the charge and, presumably, be crowned President for life.

        1. Nigel

They’re planning a Million Militia March for the Inauguration, when Trump absolutely definitely WILL be sworn in for four more years.

    2. Charger Salmons

It’ll be an early test for Biden to see how much he stands up to the crazed ramblings of that gin-soaked old crone Nancy Pelosi.
And the overwhelmingly liberal and appalling biased American media.
I suspect Sleepy Joe realises a second attempt to impeach Trump in the few days he has left as POTUS will be more trouble than it’s worth.
He has far more pressing issues on his hands.

      1. ReproBertie

“endless ad hominem attacks being indicative of an ill-educated halfwit frustrated at his own deficiencies.”

“that gin-soaked old crone Nancy Pelosi”

        1. ( ̄_, ̄ ) AKA Frilly Keane

          Yeah
but I would accept that Nancy Pelosi is an elected official, and has put herself out there
for the likes of Charge to pass comment, at will
That’s fair enough, that’s what she signed up for and it is her job to ensure free speech etc

I used to think that you could measure what Charage is really about by the questions he doesn’t answer, like the ones that are dropped here in the comments section, that he conveniently ignores,
But its all there now folks, Charage would never say that about Denis Thatcher – gin-soaked old crone would he
or refer to the (former) British PMs spouse as Pensioner would he
So now ye all know what the Broadsheet comments section is actually being used for

fair enough, their gaff their rules

          1. Charger Salmons

How’s the Spaff Bread recipe coming along V ?
I thought it might go well in a jerk chicken sandwich.
            Made with Anchor butter.

            Heh,heh,heh.

          1. goldenbrown

Charger, apologies I missed your comment but now that you are on the line….

I was wondering, what do your special friends look like when you’re being them?

like when you imagine yourself in-service for Farage is the getup along the lines of Hyacinth Bouquet as clerical secretary?

or do you go more the whole Upstairs Downstairs period formal maid uniform garb direction?

if you’re comfortable answering that, but no need for too much detail though, ok?

      2. Nigel

I agree that President Elect Biden and Avatar Of Male Conservative Emasculation Anxiety Pelosi probably had no notion of a second impeachment, and the fact that they’re going ahead is an indication of how off the rails Trump and his supporters really are.

          1. Charger Salmons

Indeed Jane … Trump made more progress in the Middle East than Obama and Slick Willie the sex predator put together.
He deported far fewer illegal immigrants than Obama as well.
Anyone who thinks Biden/Harris are leading America into the promised land is in for a big shock.
The next four years are going to be a fun ride.
            Fancy your seatbelts.

          2. Nigel

A peace deal between who, China and North Korea? Putin and Assad?

Mind you, he is trying to flog the Arctic Wildlife Refuge in a fire sale.

          3. Papi

Are you just cut and pasting from Trump’s tweets now? You can’t even troll hard enough on your own any more?
            Poor charger.

          1. Nigel

At this very moment his staff and military are trying to deflect and distract him from starting a war with Iran.

          2. bisted

…in fairness, it was lucky it was Trump organising that coup attempt because if it had been the Democrats they would have succeeded…

          3. Brother Barnabas

the dems have an impressive, unflinching track record of bloody coups alright

            oh wait, they dont

      3. Papi

Bit hypocritical charger saying anyone is gin soaked, the bigoted racist. He’s probably well into bottle number two by now.

  3. Birdie

I’m so disgusted at that “leak” of the mother and baby prisons to the Sindo. I hope Jody Corcoran is proud of himself. Men with power trampling on these survivors yet again, for what? For mor news sales? To help their buddies in government to control the narrative? This is something that has to be investigated and people need to be punished for abusing these people more. Ugh I’m so angry about it.

    1. GiggidyGoo

No doubt O’Gorman would express confidence in any TD, that would leak such a report. Same as he voted confidence in Leok after his leaking of confidential information to his matey.

      1. Joe

The Greenwash hypocrite party chief mysogynist O’Gorman, would express confidence in any Leaker even craven narcissist’s like LeoTheLeak after all there are bicycle lanes at stake!

  4. delacaravanio

Did Richard Satchwell contact the media, or was it the gardai? Odd that it’s front page news, particularly as statistically there’s almost no chance that it is his wife’s remains. Anyway, something about him is very odd. Most people in his position would want privacy.

    1. dav

odd that “Human Remains Found” is front page news on the Sun?? Are you familiar with that paper and it’s “journalism”?

      1. delacaravanio

The human remains were found last Tuesday, a fact that was widely reported in Wednesday’s papers (including the Sun).

        1. Cú Chulainn

The Star has Holly Willoughby back on the front.. in a Wedding Dress no less.. I’d say Kate is in a complete dizzy spin..

    Charger’s Vax Facts™ #12

The UK has a specially-designated Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi.
Today he confirmed that vaccination centres are open 7 days a week and from 8am to 8pm to jab as many people as possible as the UK hopes to hit 2 million per week.
Today will also see the launch of Blighty’s daily vaccination total which I’ll be reporting on here as part of Charger’s unique Vax Fact public service, brought to you by the makers of Bombay Sapphire and other fine spirits and wines.
It will run in conjunction with my new Marvellous-ometer™ which coincidentally is also being showcased today.
    Marvellous@7

    1. ReproBertie

“brought to you by the makers of Bombay Sapphire”

Does this mean “that gin-soaked old crone Nancy Pelosi” was a term of endearment?

    2. Papi

Once you stop fancying seatbelts and being a racist mysogonistic bigot, you can knock yourself out, you human rodent.

  6. Charger Salmons

Talking of expert trolling Nigel Farage is taking his new political party Reform UK on the road today – to Scotland.
Expect fireworks as he’s promising to announce a mystery leader and outline their blueprint for the Holyrood elections ( whenever they are ).
Of course they’ll be of little concern to Sturgeon, particularly as she has enough on her plate at the moment.
Her predecessor as former SNP leader,Alex Salmond has explosively accused Sturgeon of lying to the Scottish parliament.
    Full details here.

Some context for the very high mortality rates (16% in the homes).
    .
The infant mortality rates in Ireland were a lot higher in the 1930s and 1940s. Today is is less than 3/1000 (0.3%).

This report (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3053035/) shows [Figure 1] the average infant mortality rates in the 1930s and start of the 40s is about 70 deaths per 1,000 live births (7%). This dropped in the mid 1940s to the 30s (3%).

The rural/urban difference are stark: Figure 2 shows the urban death rate was around the 8.5% mark for the 1930s and 40s. Excess mortality of cities was explained by greater density and crowding, leading to more rapid spread of infection. The rapid spread of infection could apply to any homes.

While there should be outrage about the high rate of deaths – infant mortality was a very common occurrence back then.

Oh, and the leaking of this report is also disgraceful.

2.4 vaccination doses issued in the UK.
    That’s a solid 8 on the Marvellous-ometer™

            Claret-soaked tbh.
A couple of chums snuck round for a simple repast and a spot of vino collapso.

    Charger’s Vax Facts™ #14

A breakdown of those figures this afternoon show two million people have been vaccinated and 400,000 of them have already receivced their second dose.
40% of everyone over the age of 80 has been vaccinated.
The UK expects to have 50 mass vaccine sites running by end of the month.
Blighty’s vax programme now picking up a real head of steam.
Full speed ahead on the Jab Express.

Poor old Greta Thunderberg being silly over the weekend tweeting out a story from the UK Indo.

‘ UK government has announced “a bee-killing pesticide so poisonous that it is banned by the EU” may be used in England.

New coal mines and pesticides… the UK’s so called “green industrial revolution” is off to a great start.
    Very credible indeed. ‘

    https://twitter.com/GretaThunberg/status/1347904335691264000

The only trouble is, gee whizz, it’s cobblers.

The pesticide is not banned in the EU and the UK was always entitled to use it pre-Brexit – with 10 EU countries also having issued emergency authorisations for the pesticide since 2018 including Belgium, Denmark and Spain.

The UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs makes it very clear: “The UK’s approach to the use of emergency authorisations has not changed as a result of the UK’s exit from the EU.”
British sugar beet yield in 2020 is expected to be down by 20-25% on previous years due to predation by aphids which have been spreading beet yellow virus:
“The temporary use of this product is strictly limited to a non-flowering crop and will be tightly controlled to minimise any potential risk to pollinators.”

Don’t expect a correction from whiny green ponytails any time soon.

  11. Charger Salmons

Any Covid-19 vaccination numbers for Ireland published today ?
Asking because the hacks don’t seem to be.

  12. Tommy Bohan

I had to smile again when I see the Daily Mail (that is put in before two Irish papers) is actually the British version! Just goes to prove how hard to tell the difference between the “Oirish” version and that from the UK!!! The Irish version must be 80% just a copy of the British one, but still charging a premium price i.e. €1.80 and €2 on Saturday. Their sales figures have collapsed, quelle surprise!
