This morning.
Government Buildings, Merrion Street, Duublin 2.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin and ministers arrive for a cabinet meeting go discuss the Davy scandal and vaccine roll-out…
When asked if he would approach the British Prime Minister on sharing a vaccine surplus, Mr Martin said Boris Johnson has made it “clear” to him his first priority is to vaccinate his people.
He added, however, that it would be helpful to Ireland if the situation arose.
The Taoiseach said that right now the broader picture is on manufacturing capacity of vaccines and that the vaccine roll-out will pick up in quarter two.

That’s RTE’s Tony Connelly sorted …
The ‘broader picture’ is really that no-one in this Government or the HSE knows anything for sure about when vaccines will be available.
Maybe the simplest thing would be to admit that fact instead of this makey-uppy never-ending tissue of lies that’s produced ongoing.
Once that’s admitted, then maybe redeploy a few of their many taskforces to actually sourcing the vaccines.
Start with the IDA who have been spearheading the ‘rollout’ (can I use that word or is it copyrighted by Donnelly and Co.?) of employees, grants, tax goodies to the likes of Big Pharma. They have contacts at the highest levels, or so we’re told. Use them then – they’ve used Ireland enough over decades.
The broader picture is that there’s no longer a pretext for continuing to impose these devastating restrictions upon society once the vulnerable have been vaccinated so why on earth would we be doing so? Its as if the nation is under a collective psychosis and unable to clearly assess the risks involved – the danger that the virus poses has been amplified to mythical proportions, as have the capabilities of the vaccines. That the vast majority of people will have mild to no symptoms. What the vaccine manufacturers claim is that the vaccines can prevent more severe symptoms from occurring in those that may have experienced severe symptoms.
The government needs to stop holding the country to ransom under condition that a majority of people opt for the vaccines
current justification for continued lockdown seems to be that lifting it pre-xmas resulted in sudden surge
new evidence suggesting that wasnt the case:

Interesting.
Could the seasonal aspect play a much bigger role then I wonder?
Fingers crossed that once the vulnerable are vaccinated, that we get back to normal.
gah. apart from the GAA I wonder is there anything at all where we stand on our own two feet and confidently steer our own course?
seems sometimes like we’re happy out being like a cork bobbing along in the bigger ocean with a lack of any proper plan of our own :(
following, not leading, the aspect of MM that I’m really disappointed in
soldiers of destiny, wha?
don’t forget the ploughing championships and other variants of muck-racking
Micheal martin is the poorest excuse for a leader ever. Embarrassing
He’s worse than de bert?
I feel your pain lads l.
Perhaps you should campaign for Ireland to rejoin the Commonwealth.
Strength in numbers and all that.
Just a suggestion …
Put yourself into Chump’s Corner for that, pal. You used to have a bit more finesse.
I’d have to pass through Half-Wit House to get to Chump’s Corner and I doubt I’d get past you answering the front door …
do people tend not to open the front door when you call?
That’s your mother’s house, Charger. I’d watch your mouth if I were you.
lol
yeah, if only you could reset 800 years, flatten it all
the rape, pillage, plantation, duplicity, unwarranted sense of superiority, nonsensical structures like ze house of Saxe-Coburg and all the hanger on-ers under her etc. etc.
a political and business union between these 2 islands might make a lot of sense
quite why you think anyone would want a union with a dying concept that appears to be eating itself is beyond me
Okay so, but don’t come snivelling to us again when you’re desperate for vaccines this summer you ungrateful cur …
Huzzah !
( About time I resurrected Flashman methinks )
You live here, fool.
More’s the pity.
I’m bestride countries and continents Nigel.
Like Tartarus the Titan.
I only live here when I feel the need to be among simple folk.
When you need EU ctizenship for the right to travel.
