For god’s sake get rid of those eyesores, and put something truly world class there instead. All this nostalgia nonsense for two industrial chimneys, one built in the 60’s and the 70’s beggars belief?
They’re a monument to ignorance, the people who put that power station there in the first place were ignorant, and the one’s who want to keep them are even worse!
….Seriously Broadsheet, Dublin can do better…much better!
What world class thing do you want on an industrial site near Dublin Port? A strange thing to say. Only reason I can think to talk in those terms is because there is already an iconic landmark on the location.
Antony Gormley’s Another Place is precisely that. 100 statues cast from his form dotted around Crosby beach, which is directly adjacent to the Mersey docks in Liverpool.
