I have instructed @PhoenixLawHR to take legal action against Eoghan Harris to retrieve data from a number of accounts that were engaged in sustained abuse of myself. Women in the media are not fair game and there are legal consequences for this type of social media abuse pic.twitter.com/yONgKWHDSN

Irish Examiner journalist Aoife Moore initiates action.
Legal question: If Harris dies before a libel trial ends does his estate have to pay up?

yes
Thanks!
Everyone’s a human rights lawyer these days. What happened to Sue Grabbit and Runn ?
I’ve only just heard he has terminal cancer. A flurry of litigation won’t help.
One on hand I am inclined to be sympathetic, but he really has brought this on himself
If I was targeted (and I do not presume everyone should act as I do so not a criticism of those who are taking action) I would want a simple retraction and apology and leave it there.
His intransigence is what is driving this, all he needs do is to fess up about being incorrect in some of what he said and this could diminish by a fair amount I’d imagine. But he won’t do that.
Its quite tragic really and when I balance his actions with his condition, it’s a rather unfortunate state of affairs for all involved.
