This afternoon.
Cork designer and minimalist fan Ray Hurley (above) launches a print collection (available at link below) inspired by Irish cinema and the love of his life. To wit:
Ray met Lisa in Galway City in August 2011. He had just returned to Ireland from Australia after his mother passed away from ovarian cancer.
Long story short, Ray met the love of his life that weekend.
He used his design background to create something for Lisa that would both reflect his passion and inspire his new collection – Irish cinema.
Ray used his keen detective skills to find out Lisa’s favourite movies – leaning heavily on Lisa’s Facebook movie likes! He compiled his list and above is a sample the gallery he came up with.
Did it ‘reel’ her in?
Lisa and Ray with four year-old daughter Nia Rose.
In fairness.

These are brilliant.
Lovely. My grand aunt used to mangle that Quiet Man quote. Her preference was for strong tea.
It’s originally in Ulysses:
– When I makes tea I makes tea, as old mother Grogan said. And when I makes water I makes water. . . .
–So I do, Mrs Cahill, says she. Begob, ma’am, says Mrs Cahill, God send you don’t make them in the one pot.
Thanks Rudy. That was it exactly!
