Herb Rides Again

at

Saturday.

Phoenix Park.

Johnny Keenan writes:

A turnout of over 500 cannabis activists embarked on Phoenix Park on Saturdayto highlight the plight of medical cannabis patients like Alicia Maher (top), who is forced to live in Spain in order to access her medical cannabis.

Hundreds enjoyed each others company while respecting social distancing. Gardai mingled among happy adults who were partaking of the ‘erb. A protest march with a gardai escort did a loop from Wellington Monument down to the court house and up the hill. A good number of country folk made it up to the big shmoke for the day.

More major smoke ups are planned all over the country in order to hit home the fact that cannabis users are not criminals. Whether they use medicinally or for adult use.

There was another 4500 that had intended to go march, but they found half a j in the ashtray that morning and … well … that was the day gone.

    Ah to be 23 again.

    Thanks BS for publishing post.
It means a lot to the activists who bothered to protest for the greater good of activists who can’t, and the ones who couldn’t be bothered.

For the record, there was a great mix of chilled out people from families to young adults.

If everyone who smokes cannabis snd support hemp and cannabis as cash crops.

comes the next ‘major smoke up’, decriminalisation and legalisation won’t be to far away.

      Educate!
      Medicate!
      Regulate!

Well of course they were “chilled out” Johnny; ‘twould be a sad day if they weren’t :)

I do not believe that recreational drugs are inherently harmless or beneficial except in carefully controlled or supervised contexts, but there is nothing negative about drugs that is not horribly exacerbated by their illegality.

I think it’s all in the individual, that consumes.

I wouldn’t presume to tell you what your alcohol tolerant is, if any.

The rest of the world can’t be wrong.
Cannabis us a widely consumed plant.
As it is illegal it makes it difficult to obtain.
In searching for my ideal strain I find it near to impossible.

I would expect that I would have the same rights and benefits of an alcohol user.
It is 2021 after all and the whole world is moving on.

why does Ireland have to be paddy-last, when it comes to our final taboo.

Supply and Demand makes a needs to an industry that can grow and grow. Just like other industries that create jobs.

Surely that’s what we’re ultimately talking about.

We don’t really have time for moral arbiters in the future. They haven’t served us to good so far.

Vaping, smoking or eating cannabis is a victimless crime.
So as I said, we need to brake the final taboo.

Starting with you and you and…

The only negative effect of recreational cannabis use that I’ve ever experienced is getting my comments deleted on Boredstreet, and the occasional misspelling.

Other than that it’s been grand.
