‘Mirror Pavilion, Leaf’, by John Gerrard, in the 4,000 year old Derrigimlagh Bog, is a response by the artist to climate change, using digital technology and brushed reflective metal on three sides and a digital image display on the other .
The installation is part of the Galway International Arts Festival which runs from August 28-September 18.

About 20 years ago when local TD Eamon O’Cuiv was mini-minister for Rural Affairs he proposed developing an airstrip right there at Derrygimlagh, adjacent to a Special Area of Conservation.
The banshee will weep when she bumps into that installation.
