This morning.

More than 60,000 students are receiving their Leaving Cert results today.

Via RTÉ:

Grades are up by an average of 2.4 percentage points compared to last year. However the increase is greater across many higher level subjects.

This is likely to fuel a rise in points for many college courses when CAO offers are made next Tuesday.

…These increases come on top of 2020 results that were themselves significantly inflated compared to previous years, with a 4.4 percentage average rise recorded last year.

Further rise in top grades for Leaving Cert students (RTÉ)

Meanwhile…

In fairness.

    Good luck to them all!

My niece is delighted with her results but is apparently now a bit freaked out that if her score is inflated, and everybody else’s is… will she have enough for her course? She is well clear of the required points for Science by way more than the margin of inflation. Fingers crossed!!

On another note, it would seem, within the extended Clamper clan, that Science is the big favourite with all 4 nieces and nephew opting for it in the last 6 years. Good on ’em! :)
And good to see them opting for the hard sciences / STEM subjects rather than filling their heads with what has become a load of waffle from much of the “soft” sciences and getting more useless every year (I did soft myself btw), imo anyway.
Again, that’s just my opinion man :)
