“Le Citroên Ami. Spotted in its natural habitat. Do you likey? It works on wound up elastic bands. Loads of them. I want one.”

LOL. you will until that day you are involved in a collision and you get potato mashed by say a medium size delivery van like a Merc Sprinter. or even just some average SUV yoke. zero NCAP rating. or are these toys to get their own bicycle lanes?

“In Europe, Citroën is offering three usage models: long-term rental, car-sharing and cash purchase. Rental requires a deposit of €2644 (currently £2227) and monthly payments of €19.99 (£17). Through car-sharing scheme Free2Move, Citroën parent firm the PSA Group’s offering, subscribers can drive the Ami for 26 cents (22p) per minute. To buy, the Ami costs €6000 (£5054)” – Autocar UK

A reviewer said this about the Citroen Ami…

‘Think of it less as a car, and more of the world’s most complicated umbrella…’

And ‘“Yes, it’s a rubbish ‘car’… because it isn’t one. But it is fun to use and an entirely loveable object’

That made me laugh, I have to say.

    (it’s a quadcycle)

Have I completely misunderstood the scale of the photo or is that a USB charging port on the door?

Surprisingly roomy inside but yes, small outside. It’s unlike anything you’d see on Irish roads, except possibly the smart or Toyota iQ. However, there’s loads of the micro cars over here so it that unusual to see. The simplicity of the design is appealing to me, it’s also super basic inside. As has been mentioned above, it’s not classified as a car but a ‘quadracycle’. You’d look a bit of a tit in it in Ireland in fairness – but it works well here. Think if it as the updated version of the classic fiat 500.
