        Well t’ me anyway

        When this harp was played originally
        It would have had metal strings – probably rusty
        Like O’Carolan himself
        And the owner would have been a Harper
        And trained in the Trad tradition

        Classically trained
        And non-metal string
        Are called Harpists

        Btw John Egan is credited with inventing the lever harp
        Now more known and connected to the French harp builders
        Camac
        Or Camac levers, which would be ‘key’ parts of any important Folk Harp built in the last 30 years
        And probably what you see on most folk harps
        No matter who builds it

        Most Harpists today don’t play anything under 36 strings

        Concert harps have 48
        Plus pedals
        Basically an upright piano
