      Jayzus, I feel genuinely sorry for his sisters.

      As they’ve stated previously, they don’t share his controversial views on a range of issues.

      They meet him for a meal at a well-known restaurant, a photo of which he then uses to publicise that he apparently broke the law on the occasion – and which be extension then implicates the owners as well.

      What a charming individual.

        I heard (hearsay of course) that the sisters relations with him had been very strained previously for a number of years. Jim Corr is simply a loser and no doubt this will cause his sisters to rethink their contact with him.

        And then he’s just being coy about admitting he caught it a while back.

          Well, I wouldn’t agree or disagree there. He’s not exactly stable as far as I’ve seen.

          But, I find it more interesting that some randomer emailed the restaurant to check up on Jim Corr’s Covid status and to see if he was breaking the law.

          But the idea that Jimbo could be recovered from Covid in the previous 6 months, never even entered their head…

          Says a lot.

    Broadsheet has become a single issue missalette for cranks & conspiracy theorists fresh from the University of Facebook & YouTube. What once was an interesting read in now the just a tediously repetitious echo chamber & basically a QAnon franchise. I think the rot set in with all the spurious BS about the US Presidency vote when this site descended into some subset of that neo-fascist loon Zero Hedge & printed stuff that would have made the My Pillow Guy blush. Clearly many of the readable contributors have voted with their feet (out of acute embarrassment) & jumped the ship as it sailed off further into Alex Jones la la land. Maybe Jim can join racist Eric & the insufferable Van in a a “supergroup” The Anti-science Tinfoil Milliners as none of them have composed a listenable in over twenty years.

Not that I disagree mind, with your overall comment, but there are many fine contributors to Broadsheet remaining and the correct way to put your point across is that it provides a forum for free and open discussion- I don’t know what part of listening to those with whom you don’t agree you disagree with but I assume from your snide denigrating tone it’s all of it?

        stephen, if you extract my posts, there is a huge amount of excellent, non-covid related stuff there with great writing and lovely photography, poetry and whatnot every day. I also think the comments section makes the site.

          Really enjoy the increase in poetry this year. It would be great to see spoken word vids too. Some of the best pieces I’ve come across over the years have been through links shared by commenters here.

      Actually I agree with most of this, apart from nice motoring porn, and the posts about the brilliant stories about old Dublin ( who’s posters name I can’t remember, probably due to a bottle of excellent wine) Slightly’s posts and the odd non COVID crap, I actually skip all of it.

        The Corrs have always been an exercise in a peculiarly Irish mediocrity. They’re not even great at playing the trad stuff though Caroline’s ok on the skins. I was literally astonished when I went to Sweden years ago and they were big over there.

    I know he is a pox, based on his past utterances about weather machines as WMDs etc., but is not a bit much contacting Roly’s to see if they checked his vax status.

    Roly’s should check. His vax status is his business. Roly’s can be audited by whatever health authority is in charge of that. It is a bit nosey neighbour sticking your snout in what is a matter for Roly’s, himself and the health authorities… Social media makes us all philosophers, armchair experts and, apparently, the British tabloids.

    If you are that concerned then go and apply for a job in the Dept of Health and you can become an “unvaccinated hunter”. I hear there are openings in Linz, Austria.

    What’s he on about? A negative test won’t get you a vaccine passport. That aside, Roly’s should have said they are fully compliant but do not comment on individual guests. People who post pics on social media of nights out are a scourge.
