Last night.

South Anne Street, Dublin 2.

First pints in fupping AGES. Went to Kehoe’s (upstairs) and it was glorious. Was with yer man (he’s reading) and we sorted a load of stuff over a fair amount of jar.

There was a scent of garlic on South Anne Street when leaving the boozer but we abstained from that temptation. Got the Luas home and for the first time in ages, I remembered normal life.

Jesus, I’d forgotten how it feels to have a pint without the craziness of the zombie apocalypse. Is it really going away? Maybe not. I might wake up with d’virus. But Jaysus, t’was almost worth it.

Hic.

It’s bloody brilliant being able to actually do stuff again, weekends actually feel like a thing now even if some poor souls have to spend them reading books about Neil Young.

      Being allowed to do stuff.
So you’re happy with some of the freedoms which were taken from you being returned?

I understand why the restrictions were put in place and am happy that we’re now in a position to roll most of them back, yes!

Looking forward to mask mandates hopefully being lifted by the end of the month, too.

    Wonderful photo.
Going home for a few days shortly, it’s been nearly three years, and so looking forward to a pint in a pub.

I’m aiming for ” home ” in May, a solo trip…..I intend to loose the run of myself

A perfect time to go (and a well-earned and much needed break). l have complete faith in your capacity to lose the run of yourself

Life is for living, not just surviving. Thank christ this dark chapter of media spin and hysteria is ending.

Imagine if you’d been able to do all that since July of last year as my pals over in Blighty have been constantly chirping.
Poor Boris is feeling the heat at the moment but it was thanks to his stunning vaccine success and overruling of the naysayers that he was able to make the bold move.
I popped over to that there London in August and bellying up to the bar for the first time in ages felt exactly like I imagine you did last night.

Fantastic. I was in there with 7 old mates on Saturday Night. Great Fun. Used to drink in the back room in the mid to late 1980’s and I remember it then as being so packed that we couldn’t even smoke and drink indoors as it was so packed. We had to stand outside or else we would have burned the person beside us with our cigarette.

Ridiculous, but happy days. And last Saturday was probably my first time since 1988 being in there with this bunch of old mates horsing pints and talking…. nonsense. The first pub we were in was great but so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. So we had to leave. Yes…..getting old. I know. The shame of it as a group who have all seen Motorhead, AC/DC and Sabbath complaining about the noise….
