I know nothing about her politics/career but have to say its genuinely quite heartwarming to see an Irish emigrant’s grandchild appointed as their adopted country’s ambassador to their country decades later. Just a really nice story.

…seems bit unfair single out Claire for personal abuse on her outfit choice, while ignoring the height challenged one term presidents horrendous weight gain,he’s looks absolutely awful, like he was dragged away from another feast of fat.
What an absolute dreadful look for any country,a small fat corpulent two faced old man.

I’ve seen the same belly on older gentlemen prescribed steroids for various ailments (respiratory etc). Can’t do anything about it at that age.

Imagine having a go at an 90 year-old for having put on a bit of a belly during two years of lockdown; jesus wept…

Why would anyone want to be ambassador to Ireland? I would say that half the job is fending off Larry Donnelly.

…it was aimed at you and other intellectuals.

Why is she here- ask Richie Neal.

“Certainly the United States — President Biden and our Congress — has expressed strong support of the Good Friday Agreement,” Cronin said, referring to the 1998 accord between Ireland and the UK over governance of Northern Ireland. “And with the UK leaving the (European Union), it’ll be a top priority to make sure that the gains of the Good Friday Agreement are maintained. It will also be a top priority, of course, to still continue to work together as partners attempting to defeat COVID, the pandemic. We will certainly work together on shared priorities around cybersecurity and climate change. And first and foremost, always, will be to protect the safety and security of Americans in Ireland“
