Heh – The Kitchen. What a place.
“What’s our vector Victor?”
Emmm… to the jacks to do some coke with some fellah you have to pretend to like, coz he’s got the coke”
“Where’s the 20 quid?”
“What 20 quid?”
“The 20 quid i gave you in the jacks”
“Oh … that 20 quid … gulp.”
**sound of toilet flushing in background**
17 pints you could buy back then with 20 quid
And have change left over for a bag of dib dabs on the way home.
How do you write an article about the Kitchen and not mention the gear and yokes at the door.? It might have been owned by U2 (who mostly partied in the POD – because they had a private room) but it was run by a different gang altogether.. not complaining.. but the TOS was a million times better.. although, one night I’d had enough and slipped out a side door for a doobie. I was followed by a door man, and when I asked him if there was a problem, he said no, I’m just keeping an eye out for you… fire ahead you look like you need it..
…the Tea Rooms in the Clarence…one of the best restaurants in Dublin in 1994…excuse me, something in my eye…
