‘sup?
It’s sign-on day!
This morning.
Dublin Zoo, Phoenix Park, Dublin.
Via Dublin Zoo:
We are excited to announce the arrival of a new species to the Zoo – Dholes!
This is the first time in the Zoo’s history that it has had resident dholes (also known as Mountain Wolf), and a first for Ireland. The five dholes came from Tierpark Berlin and are settling very well into their new habitat, located in the Asian Forests.

Awww. they look a bit like foxes crossed with dogs.
Not really related, but there’s an interesting group of Foxes that have been pretty much domesticated in Russia.
60 years it took through selective breeding.

Ah they are gorgeous……
Such a shame to cage them up and force them to live in an environment which is totally foreign and 1,000 of miles away from their origins.
These are serious hunters; they are not ornaments for other species to exploit.
looks a bit like a corgis gone rogue…
I’d take a dik-dik over a dhole any day…
Leave them in the wild…we can view on YouTube now.
Exactly.. ‘settling very well into their new habitat’.. Not a sneer, just kinda seems unnecessary now..
