The 9th Public Members Bill.
The yearly tribute to comedy legend Bill Hicks.
Upstairs in Fergie’s Bar, Market Square, Tullamore, county Offaly.
Organised by much-loved impresario Johnny Keenan, who writes:
Bill Hicks was just 32 years young when he was taken by pancreatic cancer in 1994. Respected for his honesty and hilarity, he is considered the comedians comedian.
He continues to inspire artists who are in contact with their mind heart and soul. These artists will showcase their original talent and talk about the power and influence that Bill still has on the world, 28 years after his passing.
Never to capitalise on Bill’s good name. The annual event has been able to raise awareness for many campaigns and charities. This year, Family Carers Ireland will be the benificiary.
Tickets are €15 can be bought from Family Carers office on Market Square Tullamore. Online tickets to thelaughingstockcomedyclub@gmail.com.

Watch his routines on youtube. Honestly, it’s cringy student level stuff.
Tom please let me know what students are talking like Bill Hicks. I will book them.
Sure. Go to any student union political society and seek out their most opinionated and edgy members.
Was that really necessary tom2?
If not to your taste than just move on.
Don’t pee on other people’s parades.
Best of luck with your night Johnny.
I don’t mean to poo on Johnny’s night at all, best of luck with it. I just have a thing for Hicks.
Thanks Tom2. At least here we can have a difference of opinion. The best thing about all art and artists. It’s subjective.
There is no right/left or wrong. Fact.
Thanks SOQ. For all the support down through the years. Means a lot
Sounds like broadsheet
Best of luck Johnny!
I remember sitting in a tent between Glendalough and Laragh, circa 1989/90 listening to some of his routines on a twin deck player while having a feed of spliffs and drinking room temperature Smithwicks. I think that was the first time I have ever heard him and was awestruck.
Hope the night’s a great success.
Tent-temperature Smithwicks surely?
Cheers Ian O.
Bill played in The Tivoli Francis St in nov/dec 92. I was with my LC class down stairs. Looking at King Lear.
I didn’t know of Hicks then, but we must have crossed paths that day when we could have shared the same space in time.
Like Jim Morrison and the native Indian.
Still feel a strong connection to a hero who was cut down in his prime.
Thats why we do it. His legacy increases by the year.
Bill Hicks was/is right about everything.
Yeah, if he’d have lived he would have reached the top. So many comedians nabbed bits of his work, hell, Dennis Leary stole his whole shtick.
I have never laughed so hard. It was a random action. Top ten I have done. Imagine saying that about a person.
