We all need a bit of light relief in these heavy times, right?

So let’s strike up the band now that Spring has finally sprung. This week I want to know: what’s your favourite piece of music about or mentioning the sun?

“My favourite music from Eastern Europe is Pazi Sta Radis by Wikluh Sky of Serbia. It’s the title tune for the forgettable A Serbian Film (2010).  I first heard it in a tiny coffee place where I live. It was playing on one of those big old fashioned ghetto blasters. The floor was vibrating. Best listened to on something with deep bass. It’s been my ringtone for years.”

    Nick I always pick a song when I come across your weekly post. Then I find it’s the same one as you. Then I just leave it. I do check on all the other songs and stories from the BS faithful.

    What a great informed and music savy group of people who contribute every week.

    So this time I’ve decided I will add.

    When I was down under in 1999 I went from nite club to day club most Saturday/ Sunday.
    Anyone who was around Sydney back then might remember Kings X clubbing finishing after The Beresford and the soul train to North Sydney was always one for the party troopers.

    This particular remix brought it all together, and I feel it brought on board another generation of Bob fans.

      This one is a great pick!

      Always makes me think of Sunday mornings at EP. Sunday morning line up was always great. Up to get coffee and food and then over to see Dublin Gospel Choir, followed by the Wailers and the sweet scent of weed.

        I can tell you that after The Wailers, Toots and all the regga heads played on the big stage the feds came down to trench Town and got their quota.
        Its easy hassel a spliff peace lovin head as opposed to a rich off their head coke fiend.

    There’s no Abba song that’s really about the sun (Janet heaves a sigh of relief), so it will have to be this one; I was in 6th year and we had our own common room and this was always played loud. We had all the worries of the world on our angst-ridden teenage shoulders, little did we know how good we really had it.

    This song is all about the sun, and summer… driving around, chasing the sunset (or something like that). Yet the only direct mention of the big orange ball is that one reference to it, the ‘sunset’ :)

    The video and song are as warm and feel good as you could ever want… Enjoy! :)
