Workers and families are struggling to heat their homes but the Government has done nothing in relation to the spiralling costs of home heating oil
We need a €15million discretionary fund for those locked out of Fuel Allowance, & to extend FA eligibility – @ClaireKerrane pic.twitter.com/zPwfzUiiky

This morning.
Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
Sinn Féin spokesperson on Social Protection, Claire Kerrane (top) calling on a fund for those ineligible for a Fuel Allowance to help cover some of the price increases for petrol and diesel.
Meanwhile…
Most of the country’s school transport companies cannot guarantee service provision up to June, the Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland has warned.
A survey carried out by the body has shown spiralling fuel costs could now lead to a reduction in services.
The survey offers an insight into the crisis engulfing the sector.
It says 95% of all school transport companies say it is not commercially viable to continue running services up to June, without any government support.

Come on now, I’m sure someone in Sinn Féin knows someone who could do you a deal on some cheap fuel, no questions asked ;)

“The evening will recognize the political, civic, and business achievements of several great leaders. An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, TD Prime Minister of Ireland, will attend the event as part of his multi-stop St. Patrick’s Day visit to the U.S. and will receive The International Leadership Award for his longstanding commitment to public service…”
I was out this morning and the fuel prices that I passed were about 1,75/180 for unleaded.
Considering they were well over 2.15 last week it looks lke things are back to “normal”
Another impressive Shinner spokesperson.
It’s when the farmers stop work because they can’t afford to fill their tractors that the trouble will start, one farmer I heard recently said as much. Not only was the price of his diesel increasing but he was delivered 500 litres of 1,100 ordered. Planting & other work that needs to be done now can’t wait for the government to wake up, it’ll be too late in a couple of months.
Still, there’s a lot of obese people in this country who need to have their rations shortened.
Sinn Fein realise of course that the rising fuel prices are caused by factors such as inflation and the disruption to supply as well as the fact that OPEC refuse to increase production. Right? Like. This isn’t something that the Government can just flick a switch on.
