Temple Bar St Patrick’s Day 2022

This afternoon.

Several European countries, including Ireland, lifted their Covid curbs too “brutally” and are now seeing a rise in cases, the World Health Organisation has said.

Via RTÉ News:

WHO Europe director Hans Kluge told a press conference in Moldova that he was “optimistic but vigilant” about the pandemic’s development in Europe.

“The countries where we see a particular increase are the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, Cyprus, France, Italy and Germany”.

He said the main reason behind the increase was likely the BA2 variant, which is more transmissible, but not more dangerous than other variants.

But in addition, “those countries are lifting the restrictions brutally from too much to too few,” he said.

So about the same level as a summer cold? Given how many people have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2 and therefore have the superior form of immunity- in what way could it be flying around the place?

Unless it’s something to with the vaccines of course, which is entirely possible. There have been suggestions that the vaccines cancel out the natural immunity- which if true, is the exact opposite of what they were supposed to do.

there have also been suggestions that easter eggs in Tesco are free which, if true, will make me a happier person.

      1. SOQ

Well paul- if you can come with another reason why so many vaccinated people are becoming infected and sick afterwards- feel free to explain.

you started it, the burden of proof is on you.

(I’ve spent half of today in court so I’m all up on the lingo).

Is George Soros funding these free eggs?

I need some definitive answers, apparently I’m owed quite a lot of change from him!

          2. SOQ

So you are dismissing what some medical experts are suggesting, but cannot point to another explanation then is it?

@ANO: very serious (involves kids) but it went okay. It’s not a public case and nor would I want to speak of it if I could but some justice is being done, that’s all that matters.

I do genuinely have an easter egg waiting for me at home, Tesco had them for 3 for 3e. Once I put my son to bed (after many many hugs) there’s going to be nothing left but cardboard, silver paper and crumbs.

I honestly don’t think there is any “superior form of immunity” SOQ. All the vaccines did was level out the rate of infection but it doesn’t last and neither does it seem does the immunity by getting it.

Mad; you’ve questioned and answered your own interpretation and understanding of how the innate mammalian immune system works.

        1. Mad

My phrasing wasn’t very clear – sorry Steph. I feel that immunity from getting COVID by catching COVID doesn’t necessarily last any longer than the immunity by having a vaccine. The immunity you get by having COVID seems to be very variable and depending on how bad a dose you had etc

          1. Steph Pinker

Mad: your phrasing was very clear and you are correct.

For the past couple of years there’s only been a few *individuals* who have braved the bullsh*t, abuse and the storm of vilification against them on BS regarding Covid-19 and the subsequent vaccines – not to mention the *supposedly* humane *restrictions* which were imposed on a mandatory and legally unfounded basis for societies and countries around the world.

Don’t question yourself or your integrity. We’re in the midst of world changing events which unfortunately has WHOOOOOOOOOshed over the singular brain-cells of many billions of living, breathing people with eyes wide open, lacking in imagination, intelligence or the ability to enquire.

P.S. Natural immunity [regarding mammals] does as it says on the tin.

          2. Mad

Thanks Steph. I imagine you work in the field of animal husbandry ( or wifery :) and have a clearer view in this than most

          3. Steph Pinker

Think about it [many reptiles/mammals consume and become immune to disease/ illness], for example, if foxes eat myxo rabbits and still don’t contract MV – is that immunity? Or is it evolution? Why do rabbits reproduce so much? The same can be applied to rodents.

P.S. Did you hear about the magic tractor?
…It went down the road and turned in to a field :P

          4. Steph Pinker

… Speaking of reptiles, the Komodo Dragon (lizard), like many reptiles are immune to the venom of their own species.

Fearganainm: with a personality such as yours I’m not surprised you know what parthenogenesis means.

I’d become one except your personality is already a contraceptive.

… no wonder you were never Christened :P
