And of course this costs money
And it’s money from the tax payer which I think justifies the cost
Apparently another one was refused by government
The admirals cup a massive shop window for Irish sport sailing which has brought us much success
A massive return for the nation internationally and one that our sailing fraternity has great success at over the years
On the other hand government aid for the soccer with only two stadium available both not owned by the FAI and of course the tournament clashes with the Irish sport of GAA who own croke park

We forget exactly how corrupt and arrogant the FAI have been through the years
We are told we might have 150 thousand visitors for this but I would assume you could market this country as a soccer free alternative destination for those who cannot stand soccer like myself and for less money go with the admirals cup the biggest sailing event after the round the world yacht race needing less security and the costs due to the fact soccer internationally has a certain following of thugs
Just look at the riot at Wembley from the gurriors that are the bad side of soccer

Well looking at some of them they are already being quite thrifty because they are really rocking that SVP charity shop look!

Just because you’re interested in sport doesn’t mean everyone is. Much better to spread the money around and support all types pf culture. Venice Biennale is the world cup of visual art, so it’s great that Ireland sends our best and brightest every 2 years. Best of luck to Niamh O’Malley in April, she’s a super artist so I’m sure she’ll do us proud.
