Would that make it okay to use it on Ukrainians? Do black and brown people only count when you’re trying to defend Putin?

        1. SOQ

No it would not make it ok but it is the glaring double standards and hypocrisy within this propaganda which needs to be pointed out.

If such accounts presented this event being one in a series then fine, but that is not what is happening- the inference is that such was never used before, which is downright dishonest.

          1. Nigel

Well, as long as we agree that Putin’s a murdering war criminal, the rest of your special pleading can be dismissed.

          2. bisted

…at least you’re singing from the same hymn sheet as sleepy Joe, Nigel…and…those pesky reds do have weapons of mass destruction…

          3. E'Matty

Nigel. Putin is a psychopathic war criminal. The following are also psychopathic war criminals: Joe Biden, Boris Johnston, Barack Obama, George W Bush, David Cameron, Nicholas Sarkozy, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, Hillary Clinton and so many more. I condemn all wars. You are engaged in propaganda to promote the interests of one side of warmongers over another. It is your selective outrage and band wagon jumping enthusiasm that exposes your rank hypocrisy and virtue signalling BS.

          4. anti bot

What has former wars to do with this one. Go on, explain. What does any war lead you to justify the killing of innocent people. I dare to justify. D heads on here stating, well Merica did it so this war is okay….justify it!

          5. Nigel

‘those pesky reds do have weapons of mass destruction…’

            They’re not reds.

            ‘Yemen, not so much.’

I thought the Nazis were the ones using human shields.

          6. Nigel

‘It is your selective outrage and band wagon jumping enthusiasm that exposes your rank hypocrisy and virtue signalling BS’

What about people who loftily declare that all wars are bad when anyone else tries to point out how bad a particular war is? What sort of posturing hypocrisy is that?

          7. bisted

…well Nigel…you and sleepy Joe et al have been poking him so often I’ll bow to your superior intelligence…talking about superior intelligence…we’ll just sit back and watch the cruise missiles rain in on all those arms promises…no doubt they’ll be cunningly disguised…

      2. Fearganainm

Yes it was used by the US in Iraq. And of course Black and brown people count, they did in Iraq (where the Blacks are descendants of the Zanj), and they still do, wherever they are being targeted.

However, your whataboutery fails to address the recent alleged use of white phosphorus in Ukraine.

Do you even notice what you’re doing or is it automatic?

      3. anti bot

hey was it not okay for the ra to kill innocent people. How can you conflagrate the killing of any innocent people. You can’t, unless you’re some of sociopath. Oh I forgot, you are

    1. K.Cavan

It’s almost pathological, with Ferg, he needs to believe that the other side are the Bad Guys, which automatically means his team are the Good Guys, because all conflict is between Good guys & Bad guys. A comic book approach to war, perhaps to life, pretty inappropriate for an adult & guaranteeing he’s going to have a juvenile attitude to the whole sorry mess.
He also wants desperately to believe his team, The Good Guys, are winning. The people creating the narrative in the media for his consumption, know all this, of course, they’re inside Ferg’s head, manipulating & steering his internal monologue. He actually has no thoughts of his own on the subject, so he posts articles from the MSM.
He literally contributed nohing to the post he just made, it’s amazing to witness. He’s no outlier, in this, however.

      1. Fearganainm

Roll up your Bowie poster and pretend it’s an old bazooka. You can imagine that you’re more of a Rambo figure than when you’re just using your two-finger ‘pew! pew! pew!’ pistol.

The problem with you alt-right War Club boys is that your Rule Number One – “Don’t talk about the current war, only mention old ones” – is pretty much redundant when it comes to explaining contemporary events.

        1. anti bot

You’ve no clue. You just spoit absolute poo on the tinternet. You can never respond to any challenge. have you looked Jordan Klepper to see have much of an absolute gobsheen you are, or does you Mum only allow you access to the computer for a hour a day?

Imelda is singing & reciting poetry over a huge PA system, directly at the Russian lines. Two brigades of Russians have already surrendered.

      1. ce

Russia is now developing counter measures – an Ivanka May… mutually assured destruction…

    1. K.Cavan

Ferg did add a footnote to this one but his brain might explode if a thought arose that hadn’t been planted there by the MSM. I’m not getting at you, personally, Ferg, you’re quite typical, quite a Normie but even so, what’s the point of posting it here? The MSM is just presenting a narrative, by definition, they have to lie & distort facts to do so.
You consumed the propaganda, that’s your choice but you seem intent on trying to get others to do the same.
I’ve watched video of missiles destroying buildings & radar installations, Russians sitting at screens, controlling drones bombing tanks & white phosphorus being used, allegedly by Ukrainians but, who knows?
Mariupol has fallen, it’s being mopped-up, mostly by Chechen & Donbas forces. That’s what I heard last night, anyway.

    1. SOQ

Interesting how there can be such detailed stats on Ukrainian civilians but never any on how many Azov Nazis have been taken out?

Very little even on the foreign ‘fighters’ who were bombed after their locations were identified by mobile phone geo locations.

      1. K.Cavan

The thing is, SOQ, the Russians are not really engaged in a Propaganda War, they’re fighting a Real War, so their troops are not allowed post to social media.

        1. Ghost of Yep

“Russians are not really engaged in a Propaganda War,”

          Fupping ridiculous assessment.

    2. K.Cavan

Ferg back to another drone-post, contributing not a single thing, just quoting the MSM, see what I mean by pathological?

      1. Fearganainm

You’ve yet to learn that posting reports is more useful than vomiting up a stream of consciousness that alerts the reader to how fragile you are.

Incidentally, the UN is not mainstream media.

  1. TenPin Terry

Napoleon Macron is a two-faced French toad.
The Sunday Times reports that while the UK and the rest of Europe have pulled out of Russia French corporates like Renault, Danone, Société Generale and Total Energies have carried on trading as Macron has kept schtum.
    Never trust a short Frenchman.
Remember what the crooked Sarkozy did to you Ireland.

      1. Hughie Luas

        That’s incorrect.

In fact, what De Gaulle (for it is him you’re misquoting) said, was :

Les États n’ont pas d’amis, ils n’ont que des intérêts.

= No nation has friends, only interests.

Plus je connais les commentateurs de Broadsheet, plus j’admire les chiens.

        1. Verbatim

I was not “misquoting” General De Gaulle, it’s an oft’-used phrase which has been in use now for many years.
Continue à te branler sur Imelda May.

      1. K.Cavan

Absolute nonsense, Ireland is Little Britain. If anything, the Irish are more boring than the British. Our culture, if you could call it that, is a mixture of British & American culture, if you could call it that.
We’ve lower IQ’s than the Brits & some Americans & we’re definitely cowardly little wimps, in comparison to either but, otherwise, we’re rapidly divesting ourselves of any uniquely Irish attributes in a headlong rush to be the annoying little brother to both. We’re even demographically engineering our society, so we can suffer from the same constant racial tensions that regularly convulse both of them.

        1. Fearganainm

          “…We’ve lower IQ’s than the Brits & some Americans…”

If you and your ilk would do the decent thing and emigrate Ireland’s average IQ would rocket.

        2. Mad

We’ve lower IQ’s than the Brits & some Americans & we’re definitely cowardly little wimps

          – are you overstating for emphasis K?
PS it’s rude to make yourself/your immediate family abd friends the subjects of a topic of conversation

    1. SOQ

If you are a major trading partner and impose sanctions- whom exactly are you hurting?

Russia is already creating alternatives to the fast food companies like McDonalds, KFC and Starbucks and you can be certain that is only the tip of the iceberg. The globalists will have a very hard job re-establishing themselves in Russia once this is all over, because people will naturally choose a national brand of a similar product.

As for the UK, the real Russian trade is in the laundromat known as the City of London, where secrecy is paramount, so good luck finding out what was going on in there before the Ukrainian invasion, let alone since.

      1. Fearganainm

Yes, it won’t be too long before we’ll be treated to pictures of huge queues snaking for miles outside fancy Russian potato* restaurants and ersatz coffee bars.

        * Subject to availability

        1. SOQ

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about- the standards of McDonalds, KFC and Starbucks are hardly Michelin and the new Russian equivalents, would in most countries be
          up for copyright infringement.

But after boycotting the place, good luck with them trying that in Russia. These are perfect examples of backfiring sanctions because the demand they originally create, will now be filled by someone else.

    2. K.Cavan

Perhaps the French don’t want to wage war on a civilian population? The Americans treat civilians exactly as if they were combatants, bombing them indiscriminately. Russia’s war effort isn’t going to be hampered by a lack of Renault Clios. Sanctions are aimed at upsetting the population of Russia, hoping that they’ll rise up & overthrow Putin because they can’t buy French yoghurt. That ain’t happening. These privileged, middle-class children who run the US administration want to interfere in Russia’s domestic politics, like they do in, say, Ireland & the UK.
It’s having the exact opposite effect, in fact, it’s just getting the Russian population’s backs up & boosting Putin’s poll numbers.

      1. Fearganainm

“Perhaps the French don’t want to wage war on a civilian population?”

I see that Algeria, for example, is another subject to add to the long list of things you don’t know anything about.

    1. stephen moran

Maybe they should dispatch Wills and Kate to sooth the Scots frayed nerves and furrowed brow – because that masterful strategy worked out so well in Jamaica and Belize – England’s cricketers also clearly took inspiration by capitulating to the Windies

      1. TenPin Terry

The cricket jibe was below the belt you rotter.
However it didn’t stop a cracking seafood barbecue.
The lobster tails were bloomin’ gorgeous.

        1. Vlad X. Novichok

You know what I appreciate about you, Ten Pin?! You’ve got the natives all following the cricket just to throw a cheap jibe or two your way. As you might say, Marvelous.

          1. Vlad X. Novichok

I just knew it would be one of Broadsheet’s Top Toadies in first. Indignant and sour from last night’s stale stout. Ten Pin piques, and you lump in with a hit and a miss. Guffaw.

          2. K.Cavan

Ah, Vlad, I preferred your Fifty Shades Of Putin missives, where you explore the erotic charge you experience when you ponder Putin’s penis & what he might do to you with it.

          3. Mad

            Agree with Cavan.
While I welcome your efforts to speak more than one sentence Vlad maybe you’d be better stick to what you know. And that’s Russian dictator jizz.

          4. Vlad X. Novichok

Hey Putler is your boner daddy, not mine.

I’m not the one filling my jizzbank with images of dead Ukrainian men, women and children.

And as for Mad ‘George the lolololololmeister Gibeny’ here, the idea of more Ukrainian widows and now orphaned youth swimmers has your rape-ar on high alert…

          5. Mad

That’s funny Vladimir because you are literally the only person in these little exchanges who constantly refers to both rape and to Russian dictator jizz. Is it possible that you are not getting enough? Clearly you have deep-seated aspirations to improve your tallies and KPIs in both key segments. That’s what I mean – don’t let yourself get distracted by the adults here who often have conversations about other topics. Stick to what you know Vlad.

          6. Vlad X. Novichok

Oh Georgie, Georgie, Georgie… struck a nerve, have I?!

When you’re as hot for Putin boner snot to help you snuff fiends get your jollies, it makes you all so transparent. You’ll always let the true you slip.

In your case it’s your rapey desires for Ukrainian widows and as of this weekend, dead Ukrainian swim team children.

Somewhat Schizophrenic poll results in the SBP

    • 48% of voters favor Ireland joining NATO; but 38% oppose this
    • 46% would support a referendum allowing Irish troops to serve in a European army; and 39% are opposed
    :• 30% favor dropping neutrality; 57% opposed

Confused – you should be as they used to say at the start of “Soap”

    1. Gabby

The questions asked in the survey must be too confusing. Better to leave all this heavy stuff to Coveney and civil servants.

    2. SOQ

The idea of British soldiers in the republic of Ireland again, is a nerve no politician will dare to rub.

    3. K.Cavan

The idea of putting incompetents like van der Layen in charge of an army is hilarious. Europe’s armies are already a joke, allowing the tin-pots who are in charge of the EU to command them would finish them off, entirely.
They’d be painting the tanks in rainbow unicorn colours, & promoting women & mentally ill fake trans people to command positions.

He’s simultaneously telling his citizens that they are going to be facing food shortages, making his own ouster far more likely. Those fat-ass Americans won’t survive for long without their junk food fix. Not that it would make much difference if Biden was gone, Obama is running the show over there, Biden & Harris are clearly a pairing of a tit & a twat, you wouldn’t leave either in charge of a kindergarten.

    2. Kali

Surely that’s just Russian propaganda, the Americans would never interfere in other countries politics for their own gain. It’s this honest trustworthy integrity that gives them the high moral ground on which they stand pontificating about the evil Ruskies

      1. Nigel

If Biden touting for regime change is bad, how bad is Putin for sending in an army to acheive regime change?

        1. bisted

…he may have been seeking to reverse a regime change…but that is a stretch objective…will settle for the original stated objectives – denazification and demilitarisation…hasta…

          1. Nigel

You might settle for them, the rest of us know Putin’s a liar and an opportunist with imperial ambitions.

          2. bisted

…no matter how many times you say it Nigel, it doesn’t make it true…Putin may well be telling fibs…but thanks to Edward Snowdon, Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange we have proof that US are serial liars…even to their own people…

          3. Nigel

What does the US telling fibs have to do with the fact that Putin invaded a neighbouring country, and that you repeat his obviously fake pretexts as if we should take them at face value? You keep trying to mix the misdeeds of the US up with the misdeeds of Putin, as if one justifies the other, or justifies supporting the other.

(Also I love the implication that Putin would never tell lies to his own people, that’s just a bridge to far.)

          4. bisted

…you are a serial apologist Nigel…you can love all you like, but as long as you stiffle voices like Assange, you will never know…no proof…who would you believe?

Edit: Who would believe you Nigel?

          5. Nigel

I’m only an apologist in your head because I don’t like Putin. Invoking Assange as a comparison while Putin locks up every dissident voice he can’t murder is laughable. I wonder how long Assange would have lasted if he’d wikileaked Russian military secrets.

Edit – when have I ever lied?

  5. SailorGerry

Quote from the thought provoking article linked below that goes into the massive inflation the US is facing, and the why behind it.

The ECB has created similar amounts of money out of thin air that will also create similar levels of inflation here in Ireland, some of which is already visible.

This a blatant theft of everyday purchasing power, that will be felt deeply by those most vulnerable on fixed incomes as the govt claim a CPI of near 6%. That 15% gap is lost purchasing power and it is compounding each year. no pensioners can take that sort of hit, or should they after a life time of work and saving.

Inflation is theft, it is deliberate, not accidental, and the government’s are crooks. The false solution of a CBDC will make things worse if it is accepted.

“All appearances of science aside, it was nothing but the crudest deployment of a classic tale of monetary devaluation: print instead of tax.
In raw dollar terms, we’ve seen a 42% increase in the money supply in a mere 24 months.”

    https://brownstone.org/articles/the-inflation-disaster-is-collateral-damage-from-lockdowns/

    1. E'Matty

That’s an excellent article. I kept telling my father that there’ll be economic and financial hell to pay for the Covid restrictions, shutting down of large portions of the economy, massive State expenditure ballooning debt to over a quarter of a trillion euros, and the massive printing of money from the ECB, which continues unabated and is even accelerating. Notably, FRANKFURT, March 11 (Reuters) – “The European Central Bank said on Thursday it was ready to accelerate money-printing to keep a lid on euro zone borrowing costs”

Savings rose dramatically during the pandemic but those savings will be destroyed by massive inflation. Any attempt to invest those savings will be doing so in a runaway market where prices are running wild.

Remember, by 2030, we will “own nothing and be happy”. Here comes the wealth grab and asset stripping. Land, water supplies, maybe precious metals options to store some wealth. Would be interested to hear suggestions from others here too.

Glad I saw this coming, especially the interest rate rise, so got locked into a 7 year fixed rate on my mortgage at a very manageable level. That takes me through most of this decade. Saved nothing during the pandemic. Spent everything from my wages every month and now have good stores to ride this out. I hope others did at least some basic hedging of their bets.

Of course, what’s coming will be blamed on the conflict in Ukraine.

      1. K.Cavan

I’d advise the purchase of a baseball bat, when TSHTF, the type of system zombies who proliferate on here will get desperate when their beloved government tells them to eat the bugs & you may need to protect your stash. God help them, they have literally no idea what’s coming.

I see there from that Sunday Independent story that NPHET aren’t so much disbanding as rebranding.

Holohan is trying to dictate who should be in the rebranded group (with who else but himself in the lead role, of course). And there’s a bit of a “good cop – bad cop” narrative thrown in for good measure. Donnelly’s the bad cop:
“one senior source said Mr Donnelly wanted a different group for a different purpose to that which Holohan recommended, which the source argued, ‘perpetuates the sense of the emergency’ “.

The two of them should be investigated for criminal misconduct, in my opinion.

    1. Mad

It reminds me of the story about Sir Alex Ferguson and the Beckhams. Alex was asked if he had a gun with only one bullet which of Victoria or David Beckham would he use it on? His response: can I have another bullet?

Yes, I expect if they can the right will use conspiracy-driven hysteria to convict anyone who dares to implement a public response to a public emergency in order to prevent and discourage such behaviour in the future, just as we’re on the brink of a period which is sure to have lots of public emergencies.

        1. SOQ

Tell me, are those with interests in testing labs or, either directly or indirectly, with connections to pharmaceutical companies really so left wing?

Is demanding an enquiry onto how such obscene amount of money was squandered really so right wing?

And what about the euthanasia- some would say murder- of the elderly left to die painful deaths in nursing homes. Where does that fit into your pathetic obsession with demonising anyone who dares raise what should be very reasonable questions?

          1. Nigel

Oooh, you’re conflating real issues with fake ones, there, careful, you might provide cover to help people escape accountability for the former while you lump them in with the latter to cynically try to steal credibility.

Funneling publc money to private corporations is about as right-wing as you can get, as is sealing the vulnerable all up together and letting them die because it’s cheaper and easier. So, I’d say, they will indeed be trying to avoid accountability for those things while you and your pals call for doctors who administered vaccines to be legally executed.

And you have a track record of pumping out the most predictable MSM propaganda on this site.

Are the people featured- dead or alive- fake?

        1. Fearganainm

Are the dead ones cadavers ‘borrowed’ following post-mortems?

          Are the live ones fakes?

You can’t honestly answer those questions.

          1. Fearganainm

Once more – you have no way of knowing.

But you do now know that there are question marks against Patrick Lancaster’s ‘work’.

          2. Fearganainm

Only two independent journalists were present to cover events in Mariupol:

            https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-war-mariupol-descends-into-despair-708cb8f4a171ce3f1c1b0b8d090e38e3

            They fled last week:

            https://www.businessinsider.com/the-ap-the-last-independent-journalists-have-left-mariupol-2022-3?r=US&IR=T

And suddenly your pro-Russian boy shows up to throw you some red meat. How did he get in? Has he stopped taking a pro-Russia angle? What do you think?

    1. Broadbag

A ‘journalist’ who can’t even manage to spell the words ”monthly”, ”discuss” or ”difference” on his Patreon begging account – also I find most reputable journalists don’t need a Patreon because people are willing to hire them or pay for their copy because it’s solid and reliable. But for just 17.50 a month you too can be an ‘executive producer’ and tell him what to report on – seems totally legit – throw him 20 quid SOQ and get him to show us all these biolabs your obsessed with, he must be tripping over them, when he’s not tripping over Nazis.

    2. SOQ

And so- as predicted- two commentators rush to attempt to discredit Patrick Lancaster without even bothering to watch what was posted. One even goes so far as to say that the second video was staged and that they robbed a bloody body from a morgue.

Absolutely pathetic disingenuous shilling of the worse kind. It doesn’t matter who took those videos- those people have a right to have their voices heard- but that is reserved only for the ‘right’ type of Ukrainians it appears.

As for the poor deceased- so much for women’s rights eh dolly?

      1. Broadbag

SOQ: please respectfully debate/why are you all so rude…
also SOQ: absolutely pathetic disingenuous shilling of the worse (sic) kind.

As for ‘rush to discredit’ you posted this last night, 13 hours ago – are you okay?

        1. SOQ

I am perfectly fine but if you are going to lecture people on bad manners. then I suggest you start with the worst offenders, because I am hardly at the front of that queue.

    1. Mad

They have also won just one of 17 Tests going back to February last year – and not had such a poor run since the 1980s.

  12. SOQ

    Patrick Lancaster Again

(Ukrainian) Woman Found Tortured in School Basement “Military Base” in Mariupol

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LQSYmda0Sc

With a swastika painted on here stomach in blood- she’s dead.

As per the other report (still not appearing)- Azov are also shooting Ukrainian soldiers who wanted to surrender. WARNING- this is very graphic and will be taken down from YouTube soon.

But the brainwashed morons will STILL say they are not really Nazis, despite them openly riding around Mariupol on motorbikes with swastikas flying.

I am not sure if I am more disgusted with sort of barbarity, or the idiots who think that these sorts of animals are the good guys.

    1. Mad

What people have an issue with SOQ is that you focus obsessively on only one side of an argument.

      1. SOQ

In a way that is a back handed compliment that some would adopt the opposite opinion just because of me but , it is not true.

It doesn’t matter if I never made a single post on this subject- the same idiots would be doing the same thing- which is to deliberately ignore what is right in front of their eyes, because that is not the official narrative they have been fed.

Same poo different day, or this case- different crisis.

        1. Mad

Well that’s your opinion, and well-founded in many cases for sure… it’s just the way you are sometimes putting it across lol. I personally keep an open mind on many geo-political issues though, and I do appreciate your posts and open minded perspective.
