It’s ugly, too expensive and unreliable for any meaningful driving requirements – with the exception of school runs for soccer moms – but its cyclical because a soccer mom would rarely be seen driving anything other than a 4×4 in a Sport Utility Vehicle.
The tax and insurance on 4×4 Sub Urban Vehicles which is required for towing is way too high already, not to mention the legal requirements for any trailer to be hitched to a vehicle of a certain weight which enables it to carry a certain weight – such as SUVs, consequently, the average person who lives, works rurally with animals, agriculture, construction etc., is already being shafted through the aforementioned fuel/tax/insurance prices.
Electric cars are feasible for some demographics at the moment, but the reality is otherwise for the rest of us.
The irony is, decades ago SUVs were always associated with the rugged horsey, veterinary, farming, agriculture class who were looked down upon – but now they’re fashionable!
MEH.

Those distractions cause havoc in traffic, people fluting around with touch screens.
True for you.
Most are operated through Smart devices so there’s no need to fiddle with the cock-pit buttons.
Unless you want to…
Ooh er matron
