It’s interesting that the Twitter source of your post, Damien McBride, whose words you plagiarise but don’t credit should think Lord Hannan was making stuff up.
This is the same Damien Mcbride who was forced to resign as Head of Strategic Planning in Gordon Brown’s Downing Street – for making stuff up !
In 2009, McBride had sent a series of emails to former Labour Party official Derek Draper discussing plans to set up the Red Rag blog which would be used to post rumours they had made up about the private lives of senior and high-profile members of the Conservative Party. These false rumours were to have included sexual and personal allegations about Conservative politicians and their spouses, including Nadine Dorries, David and Samantha Cameron, and George and Frances Osborne.
McBride conceded in his emails that he had used “poetic licence” in respect of existing gossip and rumours.
McBride resigned later the same day, and 10 Downing Street issued an apology for the “juvenile and inappropriate” emails.
Gordon Brown later sent personal letters to those who had been mentioned in the emails, expressing his regret over the incident.

It’s hardly cntroversial to say that Russia would be better off without Putin, but there’s no way of doing it without plunging Russia into even more dangerous chaos. At last the Irish media is beginning to wake up to the impeding disaster of accepting tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees into a country which already has 10,000 homeless people and no available housing.
The IT leads on hotel space running out, the Examiner reports on the TUI Congress warning of schools unable to quote with the influx and in an editorial piece the IT asks, with unknown numbers of migrants due in the next few weeks who exactly is in charge of organising them ?
Rather drolly the paper calls for a Czar but they have a point.
They should cleverly ship them all of them off to Rwanda like the British are planning to do with their asylum seekers – much more humane.
scottser
arguably we should sell weapons to both sides in the conflict first, THEN send the displaced 6,000 km away.

Excellent idea.
One that the Labour party were keen on when they were last in power ( ask your parents ).
They sought deals with Tanzania and South Africa to take in asylum seekers.

History was never McGuirk’s strong point. The savagery accompanying the deaths of Philip Finnegan, Keane Mulready-Woods and, across the border, Lynn Coburn included decapitation in all three cases and those are only a few examples from recent years.
If McGuirk wants more historical examples of beheadings in Ireland he could look to the time when ‘newcomers’ actually fomented internecine strife here and encouraged and monetised decapitation as a matter of policy..
Instead he panders to a constituency that contains large numbers of homophobic racists and imagines that nobody can see what he’s doing.
TenPin Terry
I thought he made some rather good points about how Ireland was being told to have a national debate about homophobia and violence towards women when in both instances they were not necessary as subsequent arrests proved.
But then unlike you I’m not filled with bile and hatred towards anyone who has a different opinion to mine.
You regular racist postings about Britain disqualify you from being anything other than a hypocrite.
Fearganainm
“both instances”
And all the other historic and ongoing instances, where home-grown homophobia, misogyny, control freakery, and domestic violence are involved?
Maths – like reality – isn’t your strong point, or McGuirk’s.

So what? Putin’s protected from the outside, there are no proxy armies to invade Russia, the only a threat comes from within, and Putin’s got all dissent locked down. It’s hardly cntroversial to say that Russia would be better off without Putin, but there’s no way of doing it without plunging Russia into even more dangerous chaos. Biden probably shouldn’t have said it out loud, but it’s still true. To take it as a real threat is ridiculous. See? Always nuance.

They should cleverly ship them all of them off to Rwanda like the British are planning to do with their asylum seekers – much more humane.
arguably we should sell weapons to both sides in the conflict first, THEN send the displaced 6,000 km away.
marvellous.
Excellent idea.
One that the Labour party were keen on when they were last in power ( ask your parents ).
They sought deals with Tanzania and South Africa to take in asylum seekers.
I suppose it’s inevitable when you’re such a great multi-cultural and welcoming country that everyone in the world wants to move to ( ask your parents …)
And Charger tries to muddy the waters.
At the time of his premiership Mr Blair reportedly offered Tanzania an extra £4 million in aid if they opened an asylum camp for Somali refugees to have their applications assessed before they made the journey to the UK.
Not the same thing now is it?
You see this is why I need a break Giggidy
Better not to encourage them I find.
Just look at the guff about McGuirk below.
Don’t feed the troll
‘warning of schools unable to quote with the influx’
Why would they even want to quote?
Give an example of a school quoting with an influx.
Back of the net !
” I struggle to remember any time in Irish history where gay men were being beheaded by Irish people. ”
Wise words from John McGuirk – ” a breath of fresh air in the fetid corridors of the Irish media ”

And he’s right.
…they usually just moved them to a different parish…
Nah, people who shared the likes of McLurk views just formed gangs and beat them to death.
Give it a couple of years and you will be defending both the Islamists AND the Refugee Nazis- all funded by an NGO no doubt.
Bit of a job incorporating jihadist symbol and the swastika into the rainbow flag mind- but I’m sure you will all manage it.
My angry little SOQpuppet, siding with Putin the homophobe to stick it to the lamestream.
So much winning!
And that goading comment is just about your level now isn’t it? That and dancing on dead people’s graves of course.
Let’s hope none of those families go looking for you eh? I doubt if you’d be too hard to find.
the level may be low, but it’s above yours, SOQ. Try and be less delighted that Ukrainians are being killed by an invading force.
“Let’s hope none of those families go looking for you eh? I doubt if you’d be too hard to find.”
Is that a threat, little man? Be careful with that.
If the families of Michael and Adrian want to contact me, I’d be only too delighted to personally express my sympathies with them.
You’d probably ask if they had a “clot shot” first and then spit some pro Putin justification for murder at them.
If there were to contact you, I very much doubt if they would be interested in your sympathies- more why you felt fit to use their names to goad other people.
But you have a history of that carryon so respect for the dead is clearly not your strong point.
Oh my little SOQpuppet, your pearl clutching and faux indignation is hilarious. Your boy Putin would be so proud.
You really are a nasty bit of work- using those poor fella’s murders for your stupid juvenile school yard politics.
No wonder the Irish left cannot get its act together with people like claiming to represent it.
Keep stropping like a 4 year old, my little SOQpuppet. Putin loves you for it.
So Putin is the new ‘ratlickers’ is it? You are the one with blood on your hands over that of course- but sure if you are going to dance on dead people’s graves then I doubt if such will bother you.

“both instances”
And all the other historic and ongoing instances, where home-grown homophobia, misogyny, control freakery, and domestic violence are involved?
Maths – like reality – isn’t your strong point, or McGuirk’s.

UK court has issued an order to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States.
Assange could face a 175-year sentence for exposing war crimes. The decision will now move to UK’s Home Secretary for approval. The defense has until May 18 to make submissions.
Maybe he should do some leaks on what’s happening in Ukraine.
How about you go out and find a few stories of interest yourself instead than sniggering up your sleeve at others eh?
Have you worked it out yet.

So hotel accommodation is running out for Ukrainian refugees
I suppose there will be no space for tourists this year and to house 200 thousand we will see tented refugee camps and I suppose they will be a pretty horrific sight to see
I can see now the ring of Kerry and all the beautiful countryside resembling camps in Jordan as Dublin tries desperately to limit massive dissent from its citizens
We will see the days of nimbyism rearing it’s ugly head
I just cannot see them able to even build serviced tented cities as you just cannot even hire a plumber carpenter or electrician for love or money
