Top: Maitiú Ó Tuathail, formerly of the now defunct National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP); Sinn Féin’s Pearse Doherty (left) and Tanaiste Leo Varadkar
This morning.
Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio One.
“We know that the leader of Fine Gael and the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has been questioned as part of that, he’s central to this investigation.
“We understand that it’s under the corruption act and now the file is gone to the DPP (Director of Public Prosecution), and it will be up to them to decide whether a crime has been committed and whether they have the necessary threshold to look at prosecution, if indeed a crime has been committed.
“But what we do know is that Leo Varadkar leaked this document – he has admitted to that.
“What we do know is that he went to lengths to ensure that that document got to his friend, he had that document couriered to the government jet.
“He didn’t send it to the offices of the NAGP, which are across the street from the Dáil, he sent it to his private address.
“We do know that the text messages which looked at the process to give his friend that document were deleted from his mobile phone.
“Those messages were deleted, however, earlier messages to Maitiú Ó Tuathail still were on his mobile phone, so we do know he gave confidential information, which was valuable information to that organisation at the time, to his friend, and on that basis Leo Varadkar should not have remained in office.”
Meanwhile…
…Minister for the Environment Eamon Ryan said on Newstalk:
“I’m very happy to let her [the DPP) do her work and I don’t think it will interfere in the meantime in Government work.
“Let’s wait her response to the work the guards have done.
“I don’t want, particularly as a Government Minister, to start speculating on what the outcome of her work might be, I think it’s better to let her do it.”

eamonn ryan must be the weakest spineless Party Leader ever, and that’s saying something!
he has more in common with the salad he’s growing in his south-facing windowsill than he does with a competent public representative.

sharpening nails for the green cause’s coffin, one episode at a time.
Green Party TDS should start looking around for new jobs because they won’t be elected next time
…sure they have their pensions…what need of another job…
…but..but…who else was prepared to offer FFG the third leg to their stool…well…the gene pool would have done it…but the price would have been too high…boo hoo…
A lot of Blueshirts in tonight, to judge by the odium being heaped on Ryan’s turnip-like head for an anodyne comment.
Varadker is easily as useless as Ryan, a dull, uninspiring man who leaves one with a suspicion that he possesses hidden shallows & not much in the way of intelligence, taste or cop-on. His ludicrous Social Welfare Cheats campaign sums him up, a waste of other people’s money, allowing him to pose as something he will never be, a Leader.
An adult who sends fan-mail to Kylie Minogue, surely the perfect politician for Late-Stage Capitalism in Woke, post-Democratic Europe during the twilight of the EU, where he’ll surely end his career, shuffling papers & shaking hands. Let the Eurocrats suffer that appalling droning noise he makes when he opens his mouth.
