Needless To Say, I Had The Last Laugh

at

This afternoon.

Bono’s 40-chapter (!) memoir called Surrenderis due out on November 1.

Bono sez:

“When I started to write this book, I was hoping to draw in detail what I’d previously only sketched in songs. The people, places, and possibilities in my life. Surrender is a word freighted with meaning for me.

“Growing up in Ireland in the seventies with my fists up (musically speaking), it was not a natural concept. A word I only circled until I gathered my thoughts for the book. I am still grappling with this most humbling of commands. In the band, in my marriage, in my faith, in my life as an activist. Surrender is the story of one pilgrim’s lack of progress. . . With a fair amount of fun along the way.”

I started off watching that video with he usual “urrrrgh not Bono again” attitude, but by the end of it, I have say – that was pretty good.

Credit where credit’s due… could be a good read.

You can read it for me Micko, then you can tell me about it. A one-word review will suffice. Actually, a mark out of five will be grand.

I am sure tubbs will have him on the couch as he pontificates and gets free publicity paid for by our licence fee to flog his book
Maybe one for everyone in the audience

I liked Boy, The Unforgettable Fire & of course The Joshua Tree, their meisterwerk but they’ve buried all that under decades of dialled-in muck. Such is their arrogance that they actually enter the studio without any songs written, these days, confident that their Pro-tools guy can patch together something from their interminable jam sessions. Larry & Adam have had enough but the Edge is too nice to tell Bono to bugger off.
Bono always was an excellent spoofer but a spoofer nonetheless, now his status as a blackmailed, corrupted, evil System Pig will be his lasting legacy. The young, devout Christian he once was would vomit at what he’s become, a mouthpiece for psychopathic oligarchs & their destructive malevolent totalitarianism, it’s sickening to behold.
    May God forgive him.

      Spectacular Tankie-ing that.

Actually, I’ve just read a statement The Edge made & he’s not a nice guy after all, just another Satanist scumbucket. He must feel a right tit, following Bono around the stage with that stupid hat on, like some sort of less-talented version of Simon & Garfunkel.
We all know you’re a slaphead, dude, the game’s up.
He’s also one of the few guitarists around in the music business who has appeared to shed whatever talent he had, as his career progressed. Probably a side-effect of inhaling the fumes of sanctimony from Bono’s farts.
Should’ve listened to Larry, he had Bono’s number years ago, when he accused him of being naive enough to “hang around with War Criminals”, Bush & Blair.

Laban man at last someone thinks the same as me
The last great album they did was the live album of their greatest hits rattle and hum
When they went down the euro trash route it just seemed that they lost their balls and their anger which is what rock and roll is about
