Good time, bad times.
Only you can decide.

Here is a really dodgy quality audio of them giving an early airing to a bit of Stairway to Heaven at the Ulster Hall the night before – there used to be a chap an Aungier St who sold bootleg stuff like this – caveat emptor

Even I’m not old enough to have made it to that gig
Doing some maths here, and I reckoned I was conceived within 5 days +/- of that gig.
Cheers. I am in possession of quite a few boots of Zeppelin back in the day. Some are unreal, showcasing their Hammer of the Gods Glory days. There was a lovely English chap used to sell bootleg Tapes and some Vinyl on Exchequer street in the 80’s and 90’s down a stairs on the left hand side heading to Georges street. He died about 3 or 4 years ago I think.
I still have quite a few of his I can see from where I am sitting:- Grand Slam 1984,, Warren Zevon, Neil Young Slane 1993, … So many memories.. Not the best sound.. but the best memories.
He went by the name of Mac I seem to seem to recall – Fred was the rather more dodgy purveyor on Aungier Street
ah yes, was that at the top, near Cassidy’s pub?
Might this be Mac of Mac’s records at the southern end of Camden St? If so, that was Neil McPherson who died in ’08. Such a fantastic shop to visit; he didn’t seem to care if you bought or not as long as you were able to engage in discussion…on ANY genre. Sadly missed.
I think so – he had a stall in George’s St market in the 80’s / early 90’s – he was as happy conversing about The Zombies as The Clash – still have a few vinyl gems I bought off him (The Buffalo Springfield Again, Odessey and Oracle, etc.) – sure there was only the old Freebird over the newsagent of Grafton St
I must say my favourite band of all time and plant what a voice
Obviously
Lol
My favourite song of theirs was ramble on
And I do a lot of it
Mine is Kashmir
yeh they payed at the Point twice – once as Plant & Page and the 2nd time with John Paul Jones – first time they had a full very exotic orchestra backing them replete with hurdy-gurdies etc. – they sure gave it the full lash on No Quarter & Kashmir etc – great shows
Bejayney – never knew Zep graced our shores at their zenith.
After me in ..3, 2 and 1…
