An interesting symbol outside the church of St. Agatha near the 5 lamps in Dublin.
ن (the Arabic letter for “N”) is used in ISIL controlled parts of Iraq/Syria. Christian property is marked with an “N”, or ن , it is the first letter of the Arabic word for Christian, “Nasrani” or “Nazarene”. It has being documented that property is often seized after some time. In many western countries the symbol is used to show solidarity with Iraqi Christians.

Interesting. Small way to raise awareness about the ethnic cleansing of Iraqi and Syrian Christians (and Christians in the Middle East more generally).

Probably one of the travelling burglar gangs scouting possible targets. Looks like “bag of cash”, expect a break in soon. Or is that all urban legend?

      They WERE.

But the Burton Massacre t’other week and the rise of the Sinister Fringe™ frightened them off.

Not so strange. Google street view pics are pretty dated at this point, they go back a few years. Could just be it’s only been put there since the ISIS insurgency thing, since it’s to show solidarity with Christians in Iraq.

That’s probably interesting.. but I’ve no idea what that means, in the context above.

Ok, so ISIL are using a Christian term.. but using it in what sense?

Is it just fupping me? Why is everyone commenting like they understand?
There is some code amongst the dumb?
I can’t make head nor tail of what people are on about half the time.
A bear bit of a gist is all I’m getting like.. Sorry Omar.

I assume what he’s saying is Property in ISIS controlled territory that has the mark, showing that it’s owned by a Chrisitian person or church, is being seized by ISIS.

Yeah..But is that not making a bit of a sitting duck of yourself?

I wasn’t necessarily giving out about Omar there, sorry Omar, but I just can’t follow people these days. Facebook.. forget about it.

        Harrowing stuff.
Great to have a religion that makes thieving and pillaging ok isn’t it?

They really need to send in more troops on the ground in there, and when I say they, I mean the U.S. since they created the problem.

Hi Anne sorry if I confused you, I actually submitted the post late at night and could have reworded it to make a bit more sense.
The symbol is used and placed on the buildings by the militant to denote the Christian owned/occupied buildings. from what I have read these are usually the first buildings to be raided or seized when the militants need something.
That might make more sense, hopefully :)

No bother Omar. I’m a tad confused at times.. it’s the blonde. :)
So they put the symbol on after they raid it?
That’s making a bit of a sitting duck of themselves to any possible uprising of locals/Iraqi security forces, I would have thought.

The militants conduct a rough census of the area and mark building’s first, I don’t know if they remove the symbol after they occupy it. AS for the Iraqi security forces … they aren’t present at all in ISIL controlled territories.

          1. Anne

How would they carry out a rough census?
They’d mark the building, then go back and raid it?

Anyway, great religion all the same… Evil fuppers.
