Not cool to mock other people’s religious beliefs guys.
The new breed of liberal fascists are just as bad as the holy Joes who ran their views down your throat

It is one thing to respect others’ right to their religious beliefs.

It is quite another not to make fun of a RCC big-wig kneeling over a model of a toddler.
      We’re only human after all

Ah Abe, you’re only a parody of your former bloodied underwear-self. You can do better ABM!

    2. Ms Piggy

Another difference is that we’re just laughing at religious belief and believers, rather than persecuting and brow-beating them via laws and powerful institutions still try to do to us. And before you try to dispute that, think about the case currently before the High Court, which is only happening because of the blurring of religious belief and civil law.

If an adult tells me they believe in magic you can be damn sure I’m going to mock them. The same way I’ll mock homeopathy and the vaccines cause autism crowd.

Lol – “Liberal fascists” – nice try pretending to draw a comparison with the days of Catholic yore. Those who rally around the term “liberal fascists” generally find much succour in the views one tends to associate with religious zealotry and/or far-right populism/authoritarianism. Try again later, snigger.

      I see.
So you are the new judge of What Is and What Isn’t Cool?

And the smartarse who decides what “sociological” category uncool people fit into.

Righto. There’s a name for your sort, as well, you know.

Liberal fascists as they are known are indeed annoying. This picture and interpretation did make me laugh though. It’s my first niece’s first Christmas. Good craic.

      1. Where's Frilly?

Your crowd won’t feel so all wallflowerey so.
Maybe ye could form as support group for hasbeen / unfashionable dogmas

        Maybe go on tour
Like used up Boybands and MTV 90s lipsyncing hiphopping kidz.

        One door closes another door..

A grown man lowering his face towards the crotch of a plastic infant is quite funny if you think about it. Having a giggle at such a bizarre scenario is not the same as religious doctrine being rammed down our throat. It’s rather cute that some people think the two make a good comparison.

Hilarious: no rest for poor aul ABM even at Christmas. Shucks – at least it gives the poor wretch something to do.

        What’s an ABM?

Anyway, a Ukrainian Fembot stole the baby, and then got arrested. Might have been one of yer man’s fans

  2. Formerly known as @Ireland.com

@ABM, the RCC has followed fashion itself, trying to stay relevant. Vatican 2 for a start. plenty of s_£§[}% I was taught is no longer in vogue with the church. Please explain how stuff can be dropped or changed if it is the word of the lord?

    1. ABM

Vatican II is becoming more and more of a joke as the years go on. Thank God for Summorum Pontificum. The best thing that has happened to the Catholic Church in recent years.

      1. Alison

You’re replying to a days old post at 2.30am ABM? Wow, is your life that dull and lonely? Who does this? For all the trolling your brand of the Roman faith on here ABM, I doubt very much it has brought you happiness or peace you poor sod. Next time try get some sleep (and perspective).

  3. Surely They Wouldn't Lie To Us

See you guys proved my point.
Imagine I came on here and started to slag gay people.
I would be called a bigoted homophobe and rightly so.
The thing about tolerance and understanding is it works both ways

    1. Jordofthejungle

And referring to your opponents as “liberal fascists” really sets the right tone, eh?

There is a hypocrisy though in what you say. I always find it amusing how social conservatives and Iona sympathisers can dispense with the notion of tolerance and acceptance in pursuit of their theocratic utopia yet those of us who are of a more liberal hue are held to a very different standard by the former ideologues. The very people who lash out at social liberals for being half-hearted in their embrace of accepting those who disagree with them, think those same principles don’t apply to their religious world-view. It’s like the debate in relation to same-sex parenting where gay people are held to an impossible standard over and above everyone else.
