  1. Surely They Wouldn't Lie To Us

Don’t you just love the independent.
I think they should drop the crap
A man violently assaults his wife in what seems like a domestic issue and they use this tragedy to score points against Sinn Fein Shame on them

    1. Kieran NYC

Under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement, that scum’s early release is revoked if convicted again though, right? Sinn Féin made sure the killers of Jerry McCabe were included under it.

      1. Soundings

Don’t think the GFA applied to Garda McCabe’s killer(s). Mr McCauley served 10 years whereas max under GFA would have been two.

Would the Indo/Sindo stop already, at this stage, their rabid anti-SFism is just alienating undecideds.

  2. Bored with morons

A domestic stabbing is the front page lead two days in a row and it doesn’t even make the front page of any of the other papers on either day?

    Agenda anyone?

McCaulley definitively was not released under the GFA. He was released after serving 10 and a 1/2 years of a 14 year sentence which is the normal remission every prisoner receives.

Indo/Sindo have a service level agreement with the guards, don’t they, where they get first dibs on insider skinnies on crimes and incidents. Isn’t that SLA coming up for re-tendering shortly?!

  3. Truth in the News

How come INM had no front page headlines on the Gemma
O’Doherty settlement that was the subject Employments Appeals
case and where there was an abject apology by the Irish
Independent and a considerable payment made to M/s Doherty:
We need to examine the relationship between the Guards and
and those that exercise control in the Independent, it will have
to be tackled sooner or later:
In trying to smear SF with this domestic incident is futile and
and having the direct opposite effect….SF must be secretly
    delighted.
