UsWe Irish have a strong history of trying to sway the vote in polls and after not quite getting there for [FIFA Goal of The Year nominee] Stephanie Roche we have another shot for my brother Andrew Hetherington.Andrew”s cover picture of John Oliver for the Hollywood Reporter has been shortlisted by the American Society of Photo Editors for the people’s choice photo of the year award. done!
It’s nothing special.
I don’t think it’s that great, but I love John Oliver so I’ll vote for it.
Big of me.
It’s a ridiculous picture
The Wired cover by Platon Antoniou is a much stronger image. But I’m so conflicted, after all he’s not Irish and worst still has an English mother. Was it for this!
Doesn’t do much for me, but I didn’t see any other contenders. Good luck with it!
Are you crazy?
Ferguson, Putin, Srebinca are all brilliant images.
But I didn’t see them :)

Cheers for that :)
And yep, I’m not sure our lad will win, but no harm wishing him well, eh.
It’s TIMEs Ferguson shot for me… followed by Foreign Policy – A Word Disrupted.
Love that ferguson shot, best photo in it. The putin one might be a better cover though.
Why can’t things just be judged on merit? Do we have to corrupt every poll these days??
BECAUSE
We Irish.
The award is actually for the Best Cover, not the Best Photo.
Like Steph, this is a good cover that probably warrants its place in the shortlist.
Unlike Steph, there are far better covers here that deserve it more.
Sorry colin.
You Irish love to blow up yankee ass, a bit sad really.
far more ass to work with on your side of the pond
No.
Is it not at least a little bit pathetic that every time an Irish person or thing is nominated we try to organise a national campaign to try and rig the vote so that “we” win regardless of merit?
Yes, it’s embarrassing to say the least.
Why would we want to help our own countrymen?
