Stark but effective.

Aisling Hussey at the irish Farmers Journal writes:

Beverley Johnston sent us these posters through our Facebook page. Her son Joshua is eight and loves farming. She said:

“I have five sons. We live beside my brother’s farm and Joshua lives for it. He has his own sheep and helps his uncle with feeding calves and lambing. We all speak to him regarding farm safety, especially his uncle.

“It shows farm safety can be taught and it’s up to everybody. With the recent ban on kids on tractors, I think it’s sad they are losing out on seeing everything first hand.”

Ban on kids on tractors?

Anyone?

I would have thought that because tractors tend to have just the one seat which is the drivers seat that it would be pretty fucking stupid to have a kid on your lap while your driving heavy machinery

The bigger tractors usually have a jump seat, but it typically doesn’t have a belt. More often than not the kid just stands in the cab, leaning against the wheel arch.

you haven’t had a childhood if you didn’t have an uncle who would give you a spin in the transport box!
