Yikes!

To pine own self be true.

Look what came through my letterbox…A festively egocentric Christmas card of good will from Michael Lowry TD. Guess we know now who is top of the seasonal pyramid.

i suppose ‘back-scratching’, ‘sleeveen’ and ‘brown envelope’ are on the other side of the tree..

I wanted a Christmas card that combined buzzwords and Michael Lowry and sure enough Michael Lowry delivered! Lowry!

Did it come in an envelope, and was there any money in it?

Was it stamped or did he use the TD office stationery for personal gain… likely the latter, it’d be true to form.

Is there a word for someone who corrects someone else’s grammar, but gets it wrong himself? Aside from knob-end.

Michael Lowry, Mattie McGrath – I think that it may have been a mistake to extend the franchise to Tipperary.

That’s a Lowry card featuring a Lowry tree, and it should say ‘Merry Lowry’ because we’re celebrating the birth of Our Lowry and Saviour, Jesus H Lowry.

“Shhhtick anudder Lowry on it der bi.” said the wheezing overweight local Lowry team organizer to the bewildered Mac operator in the local cheap and nasty print shop.

    oh wait.. this is real? in which case, it’s all of the following things;
    – weird
    – self indulgent
    – depressing
    – dishonest
    – the work of an absolute madman
    – really unimaginative and poorly executed

Serious question for someone from Tipp, and I’m asking with a straight face.

What exactly does he do there? Can you list actual achievement, legislation or contribution to national debate that warrants another term in office?

He is apparently an all-round fixer in Tipp. He has a well-drilled ‘Team Lowry’ – a number of whom are local councillors. He is well connected in GAA & business circles & can ‘get things done’ – move you up in a hospital waiting list, get your boreen repaved, put in a word on your planning application, shill for an unsuitable casino, etc. The TD seat is a means of rewarding/faciltating all this, rather than the ultimate goal in and of itself.

Sort of like a Mafia Don but the violence done is slower-acting, more insidious and ultimately impacts upon more people.

His son and “political heir” *throws up a little…then a lot* was elected as a councillor last year.

One word there I totally agree with, committed, would like to see him committed to mountjoy along with the people who bribed him.
