    I noticed something similar on the BBC weather this morning which made me wonder why the cloud had form itself into the shape of the land mass below, I’m sure there is a reason for it.

      There is. It’s common for cloud to form over the land mass due to evaporation. Most kids knew stuff like this years ago. Seems like people haven’t a clue about stuff like this these days.
