Security should have stickers to put on these cars telling them not to park like this. Its really annoying when I have to drive round and round any carpark while these selfish motorists just think about themselves. Grrrrrr

Probably because the spaces are marked out too narrow. If too narrow, people have a problem getting in/out of their cars if there are cars parked on both sides. Also stops dents from lazy aul wons not being careful opening their doors. Look at the first photo. That car would barely fit between the lines.
The shopping centres have a bit to answer for

What’s happening to broadsheet? You are one of the last sites that actually do investigative journalism. Now unfortunately more and more click bait articles are appearing. Parking articles plus that other plank ljg are turning this place into a joke

“You are one of the last sites that actually do investigative journalism”

You’re getting confused between copy and paste and original content.

Why do Micra drivers think their tiny little tin can of a car is a bus? They drive and park like it’s a 52 seater!

If you drive a Micra of your own free will, I judge you.

Micras are both a scourge of the roads and a handy visual aid telling the rest of us to give the driver a wide berth, as they have no working wing mirrors or spacial awareness. Swings and roundabouts.

What you cannot see are the vast swathes of empty spaces there. So careless parking is not really an issue there.

Every supermarket car park is the same, comedy parking. The spaces are not well thought out before they paint them in.

Because they’re good Samaritans offering a little bit of activity to your miserable, non-existent life.

And as already pointed out, the spaces are clearly too small.
