On The Ray D’Arcy Show

Sinéad Harrington writes:

Following the announcement that Colm “The Gooch” Cooper will take up a pundit role on RTE’s The Sunday Game, Ray will welcome him and another GAA legend Henry Shefflin to the show this Saturday night. In their first ever TV interview together they will chat about their magnificent careers as well as their lives on and off the pitch.

Best-selling ‘Room’ author Emma Donoghue will join Ray to discuss her debut children’s novel, ‘The Lotterys plus One’ as well as her life since the movie version of her book won big at the Oscars.

Eurovision mentor and X Factor judge Louis Walsh will reveal to Ray his hopes for former HomeTown member Brendan Murray when he competes in Kiev next week….

D’arcy doesn’t really interview, it’s more of a synopsis of the interviewees career while the interviewee sits there and nods in agreement.
So, gooch, you played for Kerry
So gooch you broke into the team at a young age
So then at twentywhatever you hurt your knee, that must have been sore – ye?
Sooooo you’ve now retired ye ye how does that feel ye? Ok

I couldn’t even listen to Ray (I’m gonna make a career out of this silly oul gossipy radio chit-chat) Darcy when he was on the wireless.

      1. Kieran Nice Young Chap

He started out well, but turned into a moany-hole shell of his former self, rambling about porridge

it’s the worst chat show on RTE. It’s consistently poor. Why BS keeps posting these posts I will never know.

i always found it strange that one of the finest footballers of our generation is named after the perineum.

    1. Deluded

The “gooch” was named after a beautiful footballer (who was named after a “goochie doll” according to the internet)

      1. Bertie "the inexplicable pleasure" Blenkinsop
