Meanwhile, Outside The National Maternity Hospital

This afternoon.

Outside the National Maternity Hospital on Holles Street, Dublin 2.

The Irish Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform is back.

Update:

Mark Sugrue writes:

The ICBR have been picketing Dublin maternity hospitals and each of them has a body worn camera filming the public. I’d like to raise awareness of the fact that, if they record you, you have the right to a copy of that video (and they have to manually blur out everyone else, which is expensive and takes them ages, meaning they have less time to picket). All the details you need to make a request are here.

Isn’t it time those septics went back to where they came from? Absolute filth.

Maybe the body cameras are in case they get assaulted
I voted no but I accept the result
These people evidently do not and they should not stop embarrassing themselves
Maybe its got a connection to what’s happening up north as the pro choice start to ensure the whole of Ireland has the same laws an abortion by showing in the republic that the nation is decided
Meanwhile obstacles are being placed and entertained by politicians
Our political elite must now do exactly what the people want and bring change now with no debates
        The people spoke

They are self-righteous people and self-righteous people NEVER shut up. I think we are going to have to get used to tiresome appearances like this. They are on a crusade.

I’m waiting for one of them to be inspired by Ganley’s fatwa to destroy hospitals and strap on a bomb vest. There’s a few antichoicers online who are frighteningly upset over the loss of the referendum and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the more unstable resorted to violence.

      1. Rob_G

        “fatwa,,”, “bomb…”, “violence…”

It’s just a few English muppets standing around with signs, but of course Daisy ramps up the hyperbole to 11

Actually, there were a few fanatics who were making threats online in a similar vein. Facebook and the like.

          We all know the type.

Are you telling me that if the vote hadn’t gone your way you would have just said “Ah well, sure you can’t win them all” and chalked it up to experience?

certain kinds of personality types when under stress revert to trying to convince the opposition even more vehemently
I learnt that in a manager training thing once so it must be true
It’s one of the 6 personality types
mine is the type that will zone out in the face of such over excitement

Very odd. People who display pictures of James Connolly at the GPO tend to be moved on.

    2. simon

Actually the fact they are stood there means the gardai can move them on
Standing stationary with a placard constitutes to obstructing the pavement
I saw this in action years ago when the gardai moved a fur demonstrated in front of Barbados’s fur shop

Brainwashed religious drones will never quit, because they are infected. Religion has great power over the weak minded/ deluded and can make them justify the most negative, cruel and violent behaviour. We seen this in the Middle East, we’ve seen it with young people who join ISIS, Scientologists all over the world. Its the same type of infection of the mind. You cannot debate with this type of religious fanaticism

Thanks Mark, next time I’m home I’ll be sure to drop past them a few times then request copies of the recordings

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

Excellent idea! In these GDPR compliant days, their bodycams are deemed to be CCTV footage and you’re entitled to a copy.

      1. Cian

        yes, but no.
If they delete the footage then they don’t have any data on you and don’t (can’t) supply it.
I would guess that they are only using the bodycams for any recording of people harassing them.. and they will (probably) delete everything else….

…and do you need to send them a photo of you so they know who not to blur out?

        1. Cian

Actually, yer man on twitter is wrong.
          * they can charge up to €6.35 for the pleasure.
          * they have 40 days to respond

Absolute filth. Will be going up tomorrow to do my best to cover up those grotesque signs. These cretins are utter morons.

  6. Cu Cullan

How is it legal to show obscene images like this ?if you had a poster of how the foetus gets in there you would be stopped sharpish..

  7. SOQ

I say everyone who feels so strongly about these people should just lay a flower at their feet. Possibly pop up for a gay florist?

Who likes to see a loved one die ?

Well a baby is new life – what a wonderful joy it is to have a baby growing inside a woman – WOW

And yet 2/3rds of the country voted for abortion – that’s so sad that those two thirds of Ireland want to see more death. I would say jump up and down with happiness when your loved one dies and then you might just get a glimpse at how upset the people that voted NO feel.

    1. simon

      I VOTED NO
On reasons our constitution was being weakened
Considering government had no plan just could best and judging by their record I saw this repeal becoming a absolute disaster
Saying that the people spoke and its now to be introduced
Sadly we now see the reality of putting more power I an inept governments hands
      As for the protesters
The gardai can move them on
No one under law is allowed to stand still holding a poster
I saw years ago a anti fur demonstration outside a fur shop
The fact the protester sat there the garda could intervene and she w’s moved on
Its time government implemented the necessary repeal and frankly pulled their finger out

      1. simon

Its not my idea of a wonderful joy either
I stated my reasons for votingnand I also state that the yes side won
The constitution is now to be changed full stop
        The people spoke
        Less of the insult
        So why the delay?
These people should now be moved and the garda can for there is a way you demonstrate

  9. Fiona

I didn’t offend anyone in my comment – I now laugh at the fact that you tried to offend me –

Sadly , its your loss that being pregnant wasn’t a joy for you. In that I must ask do you ever experience joy and sure what’s the point of life after all then?

    1. Papi

      We got ourselves a new knuckle-dragging mouth-breather!
in a discourse with david, he came off well.
      I despair.
