at

Oh.

This afternoon.

RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

Former Irish rugby international and coach Ronan O’Gara speaking at the World Meeting of Families event ahead of the Pope’s visit on Saturday.

As he is perfectly entitled to do.

Well he does have a large brood, so he may meet others at this meeting of families.

Would be interesting to hear his speech though.

Why don’t you rip into Anthony Foley’s wife for attending & speaking today. Sure arn’t you from that neck of the woods and your opinion is well respected on BS.

Some rugby team in France I think.

He’s meant to be nice enough. I’ve a real soft spot for Donncha O’Callaghan. He also does a lovely little programme on rte jr.

New Zealand now. And to think 2 of his best mates. Men wore the red with him and the green with him are part of the excluded.

    Rugby is an elitist sport….

Establishment money likes to back elitism.. rugby, golf, the IMF etc. obviously over everything else.

O’Gara is in a bind… all those seemingly subtle yet powerful supporters over the years, that fund the IRFU, the dumb alpha-male culture of no man left behind…

Added to that there is the no less insignificant problems of the collective hive-mind, group-think, herd-mentality, conformity biases, the fear of being ostracized and expelled from the team….

After that you have business associates, acquaintances, colleagues, friends, family and your spouse…
-maybe even a lover or a confidant for good measure….

After all that, all your left with is a fragile ordinary man….
-I’ll bet anything they never taught him how to tackle iconoclasm in Munster rugby training….
