Showing Them The Cracks

On Tuesday, September 25.

A special screening of Through The Cracks, a documentary about the challenges facing families in emergency accommodation will be held in the Dáil for members of the Oireachtas.

Through The Cracks was created by poet and visual artist Ingrid Casey with Bold Puppy film-makers Nathan Fagan and Luke Daly and director of photography Kevin Minogue.

Ms Casey spoke at the recent Danielle Carroll Summer School and told how, when she became a lone parent in 2014, she very narrowly avoided homelessness.

The documentary continues to be linked with a People’s Housing Plan petition on UPLIFT calling on the Government to build more public housing and to stop its reliance on the private developers. The petition currently has more than 8,000 signatures.
