    * The bathroom doesn’t have its own sink, so you’d have to use the one in the kitchen.

    or how about

    * The toilet is IN the shower
    * This is not an apartment or a flat – it is a lean-to at the side of a house
    * “If you like being outdoors, this is a great place for you”….. yeah, because it is effectively outdoors

    This, surely, is not allowed. And “SpotAHome” do themselves no favours personally checking something like that and giving it their seal of approval.

    I see the owners have some taste.
    The Jessica Ennis book celebrates the achievements of that fine English athlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.
    Slightly let down by the 360 degree tour of the ” property ” which appears to show remaining signs of graffitti.
    However full marks for turning what is essentially an alleyway into a liveable space.
    Necessity is the mother of invention after all.

    This is a joke . Seriously, I’m not even saying this in a” this situation is so bad, it’s a joke ” kind of way.
    I mean this literally, must be a joke. Some sort of parody on the current rental market. There is no way on earth that is a real rental unit.

    SpotaHome? Having a gander around the site, it’s even worse than AirBnB and seems like a tool for landlords to utterly gouge people

    3 k a month for an appartment in Ballymun in a student complex? Not sure how that’s working as they’re not indidually owned afaik.

    3 k for a 1 bedroom in Templebar?

    Are SpotaHome making sure this are compliant with the RTB I wonder as they all seem like residential tenancies.

    According to the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations, 2017, this appears to be in breach of nearly all the minimum standards required. According to the citizens information website which outlines these (http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/housing/renting_a_home/repairs_maintenance_and_minimum_physical_standards.html), as a minimum, every house should have:
    o The landlord must ensure […] that every room has adequate ventilation and both natural and artificial lighting – I see no sign of overhead or artificial lighting of any kind here;

    o 4-ring hob with oven and grill – only 2 rings here, and no sign of regular oven or grill (although they could be built into the microwave oven);

    o Cooker hood or extractor fan – None visible;

    o Kitchen cupboards that are suitable and adequate for storing food – Perhaps the area under the sink, although how it could be considered adequate is beyond me;

    o A separate room, for the exclusive use of each rented unit, with a toilet, a washbasin and a fixed bath or shower with hot and cold water – No washbasin in the separate bathroom;

    o a permanently fixed heater in each bathroom/shower room and these heaters are properly ventilated and maintained – no sign of any heating in the bathroom.

    I’m no expert on rental properties, but surely this must be illegal, it’s disgraceful.
