There is lessons to be learned for sure. It is not black and white but imo people give the vote to SF for three combined reasons.

There is lessons to be learned for sure. It is not black and white but imo people give the vote to SF for three combined reasons.

2. On the ball politicians. Sharp and able to hold their own but never tested with the reins. Only one way of finding out?
3. Anti establishment. This is the important one. All things to all (wo)men which has up until now reaped rewards.
SF’s problem is- if another version of perceived anti establishment pops up, their voter base largely reduces to 1 and 2. The angry vote is fickle and will always be angry unless their specific grievances are addressed, which is impossible.
Oh and what I mean by ‘cost detail’ is properly audited; not I overheard it in the pub while sitting besides an Irish News / Times journalist.

Preventing a coronation? MDH garnered the biggest mandate in a presidential election ever.
