From top: Guo Ping, Huawei Deputy Chairman and rotating CEO, with then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in 2017, when Mr Ping announced new investments which brought Huawei’s R&D spend in Ireland to $21 million (17.7 million) in that year alone; Minister for Trade, Business & Employment Pat Breen with Mr Ping opening Huawei’s expanded Dublin offices last October

Further to the UK’s ban of Huawei from the country’s 5G networks over security fears, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson supporting America’s assertion that the telecom giant is an agent of the Chinese Communist Party.
Via Independent.ie:
The Irish Government may soon face questions from security experts over Huawei 5G networking equipment…
Operators have until 2027 to remove the Chinese operator’s 5G technological equipment from networks there.
The move could mean disruption for Border residents here, with most operators using Huawei in part of their networks.
UK’s Huawei ban could now bring security questions here (Independent.ie)

Not to mention Huawei money in TCD, UCD….
Are any Chinese students entering vetted for security risk to the State?
Wouldn’t that be discriminatory? Maybe they vet US and UK students in case they’re CIA or MI5 spooks? Probably no one gets vetted at all because it would be daft and paranoid
Here’s a great report on China’s mode of operations in the west from Rising. Basically they throw irresistible amounts of cash at corrupt lobbyists and politicians to get rooted in our tech industries. Does anyone think that Irish politicians would not also take up on this like the US and UK politicians have? China is currently harvesting everybody’s data via TikTok, Zoom, and many other apps for CCP cyber warfare purposes. Not be be trusted.

No word on Grindr mind.

Thanks Baz. My God, they just apply the same pressure to politicians and former politicians and it works every time for the CCP. Its like they have found cheat mode in the game of Monopoly.
Politicians are evidently very, very corruptible.
Good thing the rural broadband plan was outmoded from design stage then.
The West, East, North, South should be reducing the power and influence of the CCP. Given the treatment of the Uighirs, Hong Kong and their actions in the South China Sea, they need to be taught a lesson. It may be painful but now is the time to do it.
+1
Maajid Nawaz (on twitter, Sky news) from the UK is doing excellent work in trying to raise the alarm on this inhumane, awful treatment of the Uighur Muslims. China are harvesting their organs, selling their hair, brainwashing, torturing, all in purpose built concentration camps, in the information age! Even Muslim countries (currently getting heavy investment from China via the Belt and Road scheme) are turning their backs on their fellow Muslims. Terrible.
Sky should send Ross Kemp to investigate the sale of hair.
A member of the CCP is literally in the Aussie Government.

There have been a few Aussie politians involved in dodgy dealings with dodgy Chinese business people.
Interesting report! Australia are currently getting hit pretty hard with tariffs from China. Their major trading partner, so fair play to them making a stand against their bullying.
