Hurl (red) loses out to Hurley (orange)

Oh.

Féilim Mac An Iomaire tweetz:

Over 25,000 votes later NOW TV Ireland can reveal that it’s a Hurley! Despite 22 counties voting for Hurl the Hurley diehards in Munster managed to have it edge the popular vote with 52%. I’m sickened!

FRAUD!

a hurl, is a hurl, is a hurl.
but a good cigar is a smoke.
just because the bigger number prefer “hurley”, doesn’t mean they are correct.
sure that is mob rule !

The game is hurling. It’s played with a hurley but you can ask for a hurl… and check if you have a hurl.. it would be interesting to see how close the vote was in each county.. these things are important

To be fair, it’s an camán agus an sliothar – there is no point, one without the other. It’s called a stick in Tyrone, by the way – we’re very famous for not being a hurling county. (Also, we’re not that great this year with a larger ball.)

Similar, but not dissimilar, in Camogie, our sisters use similar weapons – it’s a Camogie Stick – we’re good at that in Tyrone.
